Being part of the stadium-record crowd at Docklands for the 2001 tour. I had taken up the sport the year before and it was my dad’s first game of rugby. He was stunned.

Still holds that record if you discount WWE as a sport (which all of you should).

The entire day in Melbourne in 2001 – playing sevens against visiting Lions touring clubs and then meal at the club followed by the game followed by more pissing up, unbelievable atmosphere and game and result, and of course starring some of my favourite players of all time.

NSW Country holding them out for the first 30mins and Graham Henry having ‘WTF is going on’ look all over his face. Iain Balahaw getting monstered by Vulli Talsa. The chicken catcher v the professional rugby player.

    “We’re gonna fight ‘em all
A 4 nation army couldn’t hold us back”

It’s on like Donkey Kong. COME ON YOU GOLD

Not being able to get a ticket to the Sydney game in 2001, and then seeing the game on TV with a million frigging red shirts in the crowd.

JON would have been murdered with a blunt spoon on sight at that moment.

    Campo’s blunder in 1989.

The Plank’s line out in 2001.

Nick-Farr Jones being monstered in 1989!!

Does anyone know the story behind the McRae O’Gara punchup (if there was one)? I heard on the grapevine that there was something going on outside the game that caused McRae to blitz O’Gara like that. Anyone know anything more concrete?

Nathan grey knocking richard hill out with his elbow.

    • Ozabroad

Ogara nicked his fav mouth guard and he was just trying to get it bac

Wallaby supporters are always outnumbered in Melbourne…

Poor form showing the O’Gara/McRea incident. What should be a fantastic sporting event which I hope lives up to the Lions tour of SA which produced some of the best rugby seen for years and you have taken it down to the level of an out of control individual disgracing himself and the game.

I’m really looking forward to the Lions Tour. I vividly remember their wonderfully vocal supporters and the colour & atmosphere they brought to the game. Something that, IMHO, Australian fans could learn from.

Too many of our fans attend test matches as if they are visiting their local library. :(

Perhaps this time the Roar Supporters Club will stir the Wallaby fans into action? ;)

    CARN THE WALLABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO YOU GOOD THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oops make that G&G’s Army of Gold.

Apologies all. (where’s that artwork to show a red face?)

  • Jonathan

Anyone know when the test tickets will go on sale?

It’s going to be a different crowd from the last time the tour was down under for sure, but nonetheless the same exciting atmosphere
