Do Quade’s offensive efforts cancel out his defensive snaps?
In a word, no! Watch them again, and in fact I’m pretty sure that they show no1 but it isn’t labelled, so there is really an extra.

I’ve watched the first ‘miss’ (unlabelled here) a few times now and actually Quade has his man (12) covered, it’s the winger who comes through the middle of him and Cross. It’s a debatable one, but not clear cut.
I also didn’t count the cutout pass as a positive though, the more you watch it, the more you realise he almost fucked a certain try. Almost all the guys he cut out could have scored it, closer to the posts and without a defender and touch line to worry about.

You can scrub out all of QC’s good work, since without Lachie Turner 2 of them wouldn’t have happened. That first cut out pass was a brain melt made good by Turner and could easily been Bombed try #1.

I’ll tell you why, its because Quade knows that this is probably going to be his only go before the tri-nations and was trying a little hard to impress by flinging out a long left-handed seed.
