Big Names in the NRC 2015

The Australian Rugby Union have announced the marquee player alignments for the 2015 NRC.

Rob Clarke, General Manager – Professional Rugby, said: “Everybody involved in Australian Rugby cannot wait until the second Buildcorp National Rugby Championship gets underway. The announcement of the allocation of our star Wallabies players to clubs in the NRC whets the appetite still further.

“Last year, without the NRC, Quade Cooper may well not have had the game-time to impress the Wallabies’ management ahead of the 2014 Spring Tour had it not been for his starring role playing for Brisbane City in the competition. This gives a little snapshot underlining the importance of the competition in our pathways.

“I know for a fact that each player is looking forward to being a part of their respective NRC club. Coupled with the fact we’ll have hungry club players looking to impress and Super Rugby representatives going up against each other, this season is shaping up to be one to remember.”

Is it on free-to-air? If not then it’s just more rugby that I (and so many others) can’t watch, so don’t care.

      Foxtel is $12 a week

      • Tim

On top of the base package? I would pay $12 a week, if that’s all it was. But when I had it a year and half ago, it was $50 odd for the starters pack and then you could grab sports. I recall seeing they slashed the base package (just before Netflix hit our shores) – which is a good start.

        • harro

That’s right, they made it cheaper just before Netflix launched. It’s $25/month for the base package and $25 for the sports package

What’s Foxtel Go now? If you don’t mind watching it on a tablet or Smart TV ….

  • wilful

Hooper’s going to need the extra game time!

  • jollyswagman

I may be cynical but can’t help feeling this is little pointless considering the most of the marquee players aren’t going to play a single game for their respective teams.

    No Scott Sio for Rays?
We’re just northern Sydney battlers …..

    • harro

Someone from the Rays said that both Fardy and Sio are linked to the club but aren’t considered Wallaby marquees because they didn’t go on the Spring Tour. Or something like that
