Some people are complaining about the defence last night, these are the same people who would be complaining about the attack if we had a stodgy low scoring affair like the Reds and Highlanders the week before.

I thought it was a high octane, high skilled game with some great individual efforts that no defenders in the competition would have shut down (who in the world stops Folau from taking the cross field kick or Taqele 5m out?).

Wrong.

This has been a bug bear of mine for some time.

NZ derby - 41-52 = incredible attack! Exhilarating match!
AUS derby - 41-52 = lolz defence optional bro!
NZ derby - 9-14 = Awe inspiring defence, top contest!
AUS derby - 9-14 = Shit attack, boring.

You noticed? :D

Tahs have never put 50 on the Reds before in Super Rugby. Reds have never put 40 on the Tahs.

Queensland beat New South Wales 42-4 in 1976 and 48-10 in 1999. How do I know? I was there for both routs, the memories are forever burned in my brain.

And those were four point tries.

I should have been a bit more accurate there - they've never put 40 on them in Super Rugby.

And I think you've added 20 years to the second memory Lindy!
