That was not lost on me. But it really came home to roost how little BF offers tonight. Sure, set-piece was poor, tired forward on the fringes exposed, but no dangerous play came from our 10 all night, and not one part of his game is good. He ball-plays 5 metres from the defense and just shuffles the pressure. KB (Kurtley Beale) is incredible working with the rubbish he gets.
He actually needs to get some ball to have a chance at instigating a ‘dangerous’ play. If you lose 7 of your own lineouts your 10 is never going to the have the opportunity to do anything. Barrett was great on counter but no dangerous play came from him either in structured play.

Please don't compare the two. It's very rude to Beauden.

I think he is solid in most aspects with a good step and good pace off the mark. That is it. Neither To'omua or Beale are better at 10 for varying reasons IMO. That is fine, its all opinion.

But that said I think you are kidding yourself if you think Cheika will make any changes in the RC (excepting injuries and those brought in for injuries) he has proved to be totally stubborn in the face of failures at every level of planning and selection.

This right here sums up tonight. Cheika with his same ideas picking the same players doing the same thing we saw 4 years ago. He never tries anything different. He's not capable of it. Picking Phipps and Latu, who barely get a starting role at the tahs, sums him up.

Chekia tries new things! There was much said about how the players walked to the ground tonight and warmed up at a different end of the ground. Against the Irish he had one of those Chinese cat statues with the swinging arm. The blokes a bloody innovator! He's such a deep thinker im not surprised he hasn't time to practice a line out or pick a 10 that offers anything.

Simon, I agree on everything you've said except for the rating of Pocock. He had as much influence, or more, on the team than the rest of them put together. He was massive all over the field. But otherwise, you are right on the money.

Yeah when I said Pocock didn't let up for 80 minutes, that's what I meant - his effort was massive. He was the only Wallaby still throwing himself at everything right til the final whistle, even though I'm sure he was as exhausted as the rest of them.

I'm not rating him poorly at all, quite the opposite. I might just have worded it badly!

A detailed and well thought out reply

Ok, knucklehead.

Beauden is a superior athlete, he reads space far better, he executes all of his skills (on both sides of his body) better, he is an incredible ball running and ball-playing 10, he is more than capable in defense, he ball-plays at the LINE, he is superior in every element of the game bar none.

Bernard's last name is Foley.

In actual fact maybe this comparison is rude to Bernard, it is certainly rude to someone.

I'd compare Foley to a Hyundai 2 door. Not very stylish, not too fast and a very small boot!

Have you noticed that they do not make a team? None of them have very good skills. Picking on one bloke is a bit redundant when 23 of them were poor. Tell me again which 10 in Oz has better skills,

Well Tom Debreczini has very nice hair.

God you have no idea at all do you? You would just prefer to play junior sides you can win against and not try to improve. Why do you think the set piece was so crap? I would give you a tip that the players are quite capable of performing to the required level if they are prepared properly and actually execute the skills, but then I don't think you can recognise the skills required or what a good rugby attack would look like.

And yes they are beatable, Ireland did it last year and quite well.
Or possible our two best props got lost close to the game..

All besides the point as I never claimed Foley was better than Barrett, merely that Foley didn’t have the opportunity to create any dangerous play because he had no quality pill and that Barrett, while being a freak in counter, didn’t set up any great plays when the All Blacks hadn’t immediately turned it over.

Man fuck all this 'replace the coach' or 'replace this player'.

We will never win the Bledisloe. Ever. I'll never pay to see it again. It's time to shelve it.

If Rugby is to ever improve in Aus we need to stop being NZs punching bags and we can't do that shit by playing them 3 times a year.

Plus, first test in Sydney every year we get fucking fluffybunnyed by nz. Hows that going to go for your fan attendance?

The most ridiculous schedule ever agreed to by the then ARU. If we could have games against SA and/or Argentina first it would certainly give us a chance to get our ducks in a row. Set piece was woeful after being pretty good against Ireland. BPA back onto the bench next week and TT to start if available.

So who’s game to start the Bledisloe 2 game thread after that piss weak effort and the AB’s poor start turning in dominance. And by dominance, I mean playing basic rugby and skills

Wouldnt judge the bloke on one game against the Darkness. To be fair, i wouldnt judge any of them on this result.

It's utterly pointless. NZ are the Wermacht of the rugby world. You might beat them with a world 15 but the rest is pointless.

Making our lads play them 3 times a year is cruelty.

Australian Rugby and it's coach need to understand the game they are playing is not rugby league

- rugby league has zero counter act in the game, too much to risk first up in a tackle count, how many tries are scored before the 3rd tackle is made in league?
- Wallabies ability to counter attack is poor whereas AB's are exceptional at it
- there is no tactical kicking in rugby league it only happens after the 5th tackle
- tactical kicking is actively discouraged in schoolboy rugby and we have 5/8's with no idea in this area

We need to leave league and most ex league players behind to move forward.

The most offensive thing will happen is that there will be players selected for the Australian Schoolboy tour that will go straight to league after the tour, put the resources in to kids that will stick with union. The players Moeroa, Critchton, etc that have done this in the past and are going around in league as forwards I think are now too muscular and slow to play in union backs and don't have the breakdown skill set or body shape to be union forwards.

When rugby became professional learning league defensive structures was valuable, however league has nothing to offer these days.

Crotty & Ioane will both miss next week:

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby...t-as-all-blacks-look-to-seal-deal-in-auckland

Hopefully no Ioane means no "double strike winger" formation as IMO it failed again last night & we looked so much better when Bender went to 14 & with Beaugan & DMac sharing the fullback duties. Apparently NM-S had a solid hitout for Manawatu so he could potentially come onto the bench.

Crotty will defo be missed, as he was last night. He's so key to us both in attack & D & it took a while for AL-B & Goodhue to gel plus it was hard to tell who was actually organising the D at times. But those things can be worked on through the week & I'm sure they'll be given another crack.

Haven't read all the post-match stuff on here but how colossal was Retallick? During the comm someone suggested it was the most dominant performance they'd ever seen from a lock & tbf I'm struggling to think of a better one. Just unbelievably good & certainly had the measure of the Wob lineout, which was obviously where a lot of their problems stemmed from.

Question for the Law experts: is it still the case that only a second-rower can bind on a front-rower? I noticed on a few occasions that Tui was binding on his hooker which I didn't think he was allowed to do.
