^^^^^^^^^^ no. Doesn't matter how much you beat Argentina by, you'll not gain any points. Should you happen to lose you'll drop either two points (margin 1-15) or three (margin 15+). A draw would cost you one point.

So it's like the impact on ranking by playing NZ. Each time NZ beat us, especially in NZ, it makes piddling difference to them. But we beat them once and pick up a huge boost. Just how it works.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ NZ can beat Argentina & SA by any margin & they'll remain on 94.25 - the algorithm is seriously weighted toward away fixtures but even then we'd have to destroy Ringinland and/ or Ireland in November to gain more than a fraction of a ranking point. But lose to either & the points loss is considerable.

WOB, maybe we should take this discussion elsewhere, but just one question. It always seems to me that the points awarded to a team beating one rated above them is the same as the points lost by the losing team. Am I wrong?

should be a good match-up. Aus will find a bountiful harvest out wide with the 2 new drongo bok wingers confused as hell after a couple of phases and having to cover overlaps. Trytime in the corners a-go-go iHomo.

Hoping for a good match. One would think that we have had a slightly better preparation for this game coming off two very fast hard games against the ABs.
Hopefully both TT and Folau will be good to go.

Is it a sellout? Can't buy any tickets at the moment

Edit - nope. Just ticketek gremlins. Plenty on tickets available

You're suggesting that we possibly have the coaching nous to identify and exploit an opportunity. I respectfully suggest that is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while.

That will make BR happy.

Powell on the bench offers nothing. Why not Gordon?

Otherwise pretty happy. Be interesting to see the Beale/To'omua axis.

Woah, Foley gets dropped and KB (Kurtley Beale) at 10. Didn't see that coming. To'omua for some midfield defensive starch. Like it. Can kick as well.

Would have liked Banks on the bench over Maddocks but the changes should make for viewing interesting. I like Arnold in for Rodda. How long since we’ve had a kicking lineup as strong as Beale, To'omua, DHP, and Hodge?

Edit: Marx on the bench? Any specific reason for this?
