JOC (James O'Connor)'s form over the last few years would not put him ahead of the players we currently have (including Maddocks), and he's toxic to a team's culture.........

His first hurdle would be to find a team that would want to sign him.

Rugby Australia Assure Fans Everything Is Fine And They’re Just In A Rebuilding Phase

Rugby’s governing body has urged fans not to panic after Saturday’s historic loss to Argentina, telling those concern that they’re simply in a ‘rebuilding phase’ and the team will go back to winning soon.

Rugby Australia CEO Raelene Castle spoke to the media this morning in Sydney, where she outlined that coach Michael Cheika will see out his contract with the Wallabies and that the team will start winning games from now on.

“We’re currently in a rebuilding phase,” she explained.


“After the finals loss to the All Blacks in 2015, we had to take stock and focus on the future. Which I believe the sport and the team have done on the whole. I can look you all in the eye now and say we’re actually going to win the Webb-Ellis next year,”


“Because we are rebuilding. In saying that, construction is almost complete and the team is really maturing and growing closer. Also, if fans could not verbally and physically abuse the players, that would also be great.”


The Advocate reached out to a number of Wallabies players for comment but at the time of print, all of them were running suicide drills and vomited on themselves while Coach Cheika yelled at them through an upturned witches hat.

Play-making Virgo Bernard Foley has reportedly been benched for tomorrow’s clash against the Springboks after refusing to shave off his offensive sideburns after coach Michael Cheika instructed him to.




Speaking exclusively to The Advocate a short time ago, a Rugby Australia insider said the floppy-haired five-eighth was given the opportunity to shave them off completely after the Wallabies loss to New Zealand a fortnight ago – but elected to keep his trademark sideburns.


However, the barnstorming Waratah’s relegation has opened the door for one of his New South Welsh teammates.


Kurtley Beale is starting at number 10 tomorrow night in Brisbane for the first time since 2014.


“Because he has no sideburns,” said the insider.


“Michael hates sideburns as much as he hates poor quality textiles. Not as much as he hates people playing out of position, causing a smorgasbord of defensive issues that snowball into New Zealand scoring tires but yeah, he’s certainly not a fan of the old jaw warmers,”


“But it’s just for one game. Who knows what’s going to happen if we lose this one. We might even send Larkham over to Mexico to get stem cells shot into his knees so he can play in next year’s World Cup? We’ve done weirder things than that.”


The Advocate reached out to Rugby Australia for comment but they’d already left for the day.

Whenever Chieka or the ARU decides enough is enough. If you look back on his tenure as coach these two aspects constantly appeared when 'experts' dissected what went wrong.

The lineout is pretty fixable, even if Cheika has never really shown much respect for it. Get someone in to help out as a lineout coach and get all the contending hookers to really focus on their throwing, of the 4 young guys (Fainga'a, BPA, Latu, Uelese) one or two of them should be able to step up. Thankfully the competition for spots is there to motivate

Attack/Defence? Cheika has shown no interest in replacing Grey or Larkham and it looks like he'll stay loyal to the death.

Discipline comes from Cheika and his coaching style seems incompatible with fixing it. A senior adviser as has been talked about, particularly Eales or McQueen might help, but again Cheika seems very opposed to this sort of help. Changing captain from Hooper might help a bit, at least on the referee management side of things, but needs to be more than change for changes sake.

Just 4 points but 3 of them look out reach under the current setup.

I don't think Eales is the man. TBH, noone with an official existing affiliation with foxsports or the aru should be considered.

Cheika strikes me as someone who would take very badly to a 'senior advisor' or any opposing viewpoint really.

Lineout throwing should be compulsory extra training time for hookers like goal kicking is (I assume) for kickers.
