FFS I thought it was the later Sunday match, not the earlier one. At least the finals are at more regular times. Might even go to Eden Park if the weather is okay.

^^^^^^^^ should it be Aucks v Mako I'm giving serious thought to making the run up SH1 myself.

Southland's dismal season(s) continues:

It may change but at this stage it doesn't look like either of the semi finals are being shown live on Fox this weekend. Doesn't help that the Auckland-Wellington semi final clashes with an NRC semi final.

Abel looks like he'd be worthy of a spot in the Australian national squad.

Yeah I thought he was a mid-20's Auckland club land player that the Blues would do well to sign. Needless to say I was a bit bummed when I learned he was a 29 year old Australian with a Brumbies contract.

I don't believe he is contracted, went to Mitre 10 to hopefully get one I think.

Caught the end of the Auckland North Harbour fixture, Auckland look pretty good for the trophy imo. Impressed with the try by the Auckland left winger.

90% sure he has no contract, but as a Brumbies supporter would be very happy to be wrong ;)

Brumbies signed him until end of 2019 in 2017, but since then they've signed three other hookers for 2019 too.

Links are all at the wikipedia page.

Guess that would mean one of the franchises has signed him, or is in the process of. Just got to wait and see who it is.

I would also say I'm surprised to see him qualify for the Maori, but it is a pretty low bar. Should still be the Juniors playing instead, mind.

^^^^^^^^^^ isn't he the nephew of Sid, Ken & Brian Going? Seem to recall reading that somewhere.

Could well be WOB, seem to recall the name from up that way. Mind you at one stage seemed 20% were part of the Going whanau, then the Osbornes took over it seemed so really probably needed a Going back in!:D
