Does anyone have any predictions for who will light up this years competition from an individual perspective? We've seen in past seasons players like Walker (Kinross - now with Waratahs), Doueihi (Pats - now with Rabbitohs), Mark Nawanqanitwaswe (Pats - now Aus u20 & Waratahs Academy), Chipizubov (Oakhill - now Aus 7s).

Can anyone fill me in on any other ISA graduates who are excelling in the world of rugby/rugby league. I'm very interested to see where blokes are ending up.

Also, any stars to light up ISA 2019?

I tried to watch most of Pats games last season (I live in homebush, so It's closest. haha) And they were pretty average except Mark and the young Hooker, Anthony Redman (his family call him CJ) could be a breakout star, he isn't the fittest but boy can he move! boy can he hit! Hell of a lineout too!

Beast Mode Negro Footy, I am also a strong schoolboy rugby fan living out at Homebush. I do love to pop down to St Pats' #1 oval on a Saturday to spectate.
I have also noticed over the last few years the strong young hooker they call CJ, he developed greatly over the season he had in the 16 A's.
My real interest is on the boys from Oakhill. Looking to back up a fairly strong season from last year, wondering if they have any more guns coming back for a repeat season?
I have also seen a strong player from st Pats who is coming back from an ACL injury from last season. I have been reading about Max Smith, pretty sure he plays with 7 on his back, has been copping a bit of shit from the other members but I do rate him as a player. He's quick over the ball and loves getting his knees dirty in a tackle. Along with Tom Brooks who is known for his big hits at his side, I believe Pats will have a strong forward pack, its all up to their fifth year running coach to back it up with some results.
Love that rugby is back, can't wait for a big season from the ISA boys!

Tell you what mate, you're right about Max Smith, that bloke digs in to every ruck and maul. That's what us footyheads love to see haha, always on his knees!

Good to see someone with some positive views, I've been hearing too much negative chat from this group, characters like Harwy Amor, MichaelJacksonIsInnocent and Not Max Smith have been ruining the rugby culture of the group.

Im interested to see what your views are on the final ladder at the end of the season, any thoughts?

Ok here goes nothing, i'm no gus gould but I'll try my best. haha. Here goes nothing:
1.Pats
2.Pius
3.Augustines
4.Knox (Assuming they replace Gregs. [A man can dream!])
5.Stannies
6.Kinross
7.Oakhill

I personally believe St Greg's presence is needed in the competition, they give most teams a run for their money, especially over the past few years. We all know St Greg's has a strong tradition in Rugby League, however they've been in the top half for a few years. Boys will be boys, St Greg's passion is definitely there, they give it their all on the pitch. That is Rugby.

Agree wholeheartedly Bob, I don't understand why some people believe ISA would be better off without Greg's participation, as you rightly point out, they give most teams a run for their money and they've been in the top half for a few years! We need more, not fewer schools participating!

I believe the inclusion of St Gregs is a positive aspect of ISA rugby. They play with size, tenacity and aggression which is key to a good rugby side. Without them, a bye round would be present and therefore less rugby being played. Having successful rugby being played out in the west is essential to the development of the game in general and pivotal to the development of players. Interesting to see how they perform this weekend against a inevitably strong Eddy's side

How are oakhill set to front up against a predicted very strong knox side considering their poor performances last season???

Hi Warick, five new 1st XV starters in the pack, and mostly same backline from last years 1st XV, will be a willing contest!

Hi Warrick Stapleton, agree that Gregs participation is a positive for the ISA comp and I support their continued inclusion (even though the home game refereeing can be at times sub-optimal!). Good luck against Eddy's this weekend!

Barker 25 Stannies 23. 1st XV
Cold and wet and blowing a gale in Bathurst beautiful rugby weather.
Unfortunately did not see all the game but came down to a conversion from the sideline into the wind after the siren for Stannies to draw the game.
Both sides played some nice hard football, I think both coaches would be reasonably happy with that hit out. Stannies suffered a few injuries.
Stannies won 13s 14s and 16s quite comfortably
