Seamas Smith I understand is a No 9, and I think Will Goddard might play there as well.

Also, pretty sure Osborne had time in the trials this year on the side of the scrum. If he's who I am thinking of, then he looked more than handy.

Goddards a 15 according to his rugby profile

Any relation to the other Goddard who is a half back?

Patrick Tafa got game time last year. You'd have to think he is a strong chance to start at number 8.

Only 6 returning players from last year's World Championship squad. Seems like a low number compared to normal.

over an all QLD backrow? Pffft.

Yeah, I did think of him but those three backrowers are all class. All started NRC games last year. I haven't seen as much of Tafa honestly.

Angus Bell will be first 1 picked. At no 1.

Debuted for Sydney Uni First grade round 1 last weekend. First game out of school.

Haangana IMO will play 6.

McReight has a mortgage on 7

Tafa will be 8 with Will Harris on the bench pushing for the starting spot.

Trevor Hosea will be 1 Lock, IMO Max Douglas will be the other.

Breen the other prop
Loneragan the hooker

Looking like a very good pack

Did Tafa play for Norths in last year's SS? Think it might be him who I thought had some outstanding touches in televised games.

Yes. He's a Norths player.

He's got a Tahs contract too and looked decent in the preseason games he got an opportunity in.

There's definitely a lot of competition for those backrow spots because as Reg and Bobby Sands said, those Queensland backrowers are all really good too.

I do wonder now if the URC (NRC u19’s) is just a waste of time and resources as it does not appear to be a “feeder”
Into the Junior Wallabies.

Now I can only speak from a Qld perspective as I have not followed other states too closely- of the 12 Queenslanders selected in the Junior Wallabies for the Oceania Champs only two (Siggs & Lucas) came from the 48 Qld URC players who were the competition finalists last year. An extraordinary low number to be selected from the National Champion team and Runner Up.

Edit - there were three players - Siggs, Lucas and Ralston

Were the other 10 playing in the NRC?

Apparently, he is from QLD. He went to State High. I think I've read about this bloke.
