RD 14: Rebels v Bulls - Fri 17th @7:45 - AAMI Park

IMPORTANT

Rebels need to win, Brumbies have pinched top spot and have the buy this weekend. Rebels played ok against the Reds but left a lot of points on the field. Win this and we deserve to play finals, lose this and we really don't deserve it.

Hope QC (Quade Cooper) passes concussion protocols, Uelese onto the bench. English back to 13 or Magnay and give Koroibete a rest. To'omua on the bench might be a good option for the last 20 minutes to.

rugby.com.au are suggesting that Uelese will play for the Rising against the Japan A this weekend.

That game will be a curtain raiser to the Rebels v Bulls, starts at 5:05pm.

QC (Quade Cooper) seemed alright after the match, hopefully he'll pass, but I'll be surprised. Hope To'omua can get up to speed with defensive pattern quick

Reporting today that To'omua will play on Friday.

I'll wear my player welfare hat and hope QC (Quade Cooper) is cotton-wooled until he passes a conservative concussion protocol and is given an extra rest week. The Fox Rugby podcast with Ant Fainga'a is still giving me nightmares.

Agreed, times like this you can put your team's hopes aside and try to avoid an awful situation.

resting QC (Quade Cooper) for this game is sensible, while every game is important the bonus point win over the Sunwolves the following week and the Tahs the week after are the more important games.

Interestingly To'omua said that he was meant to be flying into Melbourne in a week or two, but everything got moved forward because of Quade's headknock. Woke up at 9am Saturday, flight booked by 11am, on the plane that night.

Also, said Quade could still play this weekend.

Rebels request went in Friday night, thought best to try as soon as possible and see if he will be released. Tigers are safe so they had no reason not to say yes this time round.

On a interesting note,

Rebels marketing department are not even trying with this match,

Advertising showing up cause google is always watching is already for the Tahs game.

Can't get worse than the attendance last week :(

The weather was deep into brass monkeys territory and the aus conference games are often the most poorly attended. Hopefully it's not a direly cold evening and the bokke expats come out for some footy

Agree, I nearly called for the pub instead. If that rain had not stopped by 6:30pm I was staying in the pub.

Friday is 19 with no rain, so a lot better conditions for rugby. Also no AFL in Melbourne again so they really should be pushing this week. Tahs game is up against North v Richmond which is never good.

Here's a hint:

Speed up the game against the Bulls. Chiefs and then Saders. Changes of angle at speed had them looking like right morons.

The Bulls are trying to speed up their game. Pity they seem to run their defense at a snails pace.

Rebels by 45+

Penalty count in favour of the home team: 21 to 2

Blue's tears: approximately half a pint.
