Hopefully we are a targeting some forwards for next season, also wouldn't mind a different type of winger, we seem to recruit the "same player" in the forwards and backs

I'd like to see Tom Robbo move back to THP (where he started), with Kepu going HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) and Robbo would be a pretty good pair of young starting props

Tight five depth is still very shallow. Sham Vui and Cody Walker haven't really done much. How are they going in SS?

I imagine Rory O'Conner and Chris Talakai are your first two back-ups. Both have had a fair bit of time this year and haven't been too bad, particularly Talakai.

Hopefully Talakai can improve his ball handling next season. He's done well at set piece in his first season but his hands have let him down a few times. It's obviously not his main job but there's no escaping the fact that even your reserve THP has to handle the ball frequently enough for it to matter in the modern game.

Yes!! Well done Tahs keeping Newsome! Tim Horan gave him a well deserved rap in commentary on Saturday after his splendid try under the posts in the second half. Tim Horan is a good judge.

I still think we need a strike winger as opposed to two pure 'work-rate' wingers. Clark has speed but not really the ability to beat a man.
I think Newsome is more of a strike winger than anything else. He's fast and relatively strong in the tackle. He certainly wouldnt fit the description of a second 15 like DHP etc.

Good signing IMO.

Also, Reg i think you can edit your first post to confirm Folau is gone now.

I must admit that I was not a big fan ow Newsome when he came over to the Tahs however I am impressed by his work rate and commitment, he seems to be developing into a solid winger!

We do need some variety outside and I agree with Eastman, we need a strike weapon for 2020, Clark and Newsome are very much alike.

Try and keep Chris Talakai and Vui for next year as tighthead props. They might not want to stay given the way they've been treated this year (no game time) and Vui's main mentor from u20s upwards, Cronny, is leaving.

It's been nothing short of a disgrace the way that the bench has been used all year. Kepu playing 75-80 minutes every week is just a joke. I don't care if they think Talakai or Vui isn't ready, get them out there at the 50 minute mark. Same with every other substitute why have a bench if they're not going to get used????
