McDermott is a free agent as per rugby reg 1st post of this thread

McDermott is absolutely priority #2 to be resigned right behind priority #1 in Kerevi.

So is Kerevi gone or not? I haven't seen anything official?

Surely with Folau gone, the ARU would throw the kitchen sink at him?

Yes please..next we will having him play 10.

Give him some development time without the pressure of being seen as a playmaker. Just let the lad run !!!

How good was that first run of the season against the highlanders.

Petaia is such a gifted tackle buster. Can’t wait to see him return back to 100% health. There’s not a more promising youngster in Australian rugby (other then Tanelia Topou) then Petaia.

I keep hearing the Reds have shown interest in Meakes. Perhaps it might be down to if Kerevi stays or not

Geez, a backline of

9. McDermott
10. Hegarty
11. Daugunu
12. Meakes/Kerevi
13. Petaia
14. Speight
15. McGahan/Stewart

Is starting to look like the missing piece of the puzzle from this season. Obviously a strong signing at 10/15 would be a huge plus but the balance is looking better.

If we signed Meakes, I wouldn't be too disheartened if we lose Kerevi for a year. It should force the Reds to adopt a gameplan/s outside of 'give the ball to Samu' and force Hegary/Stewart and co to build on their reading of the game.

Reds should be looking at making a play for Ben Gunter. He’s just been notified he’s failed the residency rules for this years World Cup. Apparently he spent time overseas during his Japan period. He’d be the perfect foil as a big no.8, for all the great industrious work the other backrowers do. ASY (Angus Scott-Young) I believe is an out and out 6, and no future at no.8. He’s going to be a very good one at that.

Higgers going, Timu going. Clearly a spot free

I guess he's worth a go but seems pretty happy in Japan. ALthough he is from Brisbane isn't he?
