That is hearsay.

I can see it being the case but id never heard or read anything substantial.

Equally, could be people making convenient assumptions because they dont like cheika.

the bit about pissed off management is definitely true, as to who is to blame ? well thats speculative i agree.

good point. Tuttle would be a good shout. I rate him highly and I agree he wouldn't get much shout up here. I'd prefer him and McDermott stayed and Sorovi goes elsewhere but Moses is the only one signed next year.

Even a player like Isaac Fines from the force or Liam Dillon from QPR would be a solid get for a young 9

Sam Talakai off to Suntory. The Japanese season is now fully aligned with Super Rugby correct? So that's him gone as well

■ Personal comment
Semise Tarakai (Re-joining)
"The experience of last season at Suntory was very good for me. There was no reason to refuse the contract offer from the team that gave me such experience. Last season 4 The months were very short, but all the team and fans welcomed me more than I
thought , like a family, and another reason I wanted to come back was last season's It's a frustrating experience in the finals, and I'll do my best for this team, not just for myself this season. "
Sama Malolo
“I am looking forward to learning a lot and having the opportunity to grow as a human and athlete in the Suntory. I am delighted to welcome you and join a team with a lot of support and a good culture. I'm glad. "
Mori Minato
"This time I am very happy to be able to play rugby in a very high-level team, Suntory Corallias . With regard to rugby, it is best to be able to play with a great environment and top players The environment will change, but I will do my best to cope with new challenges. Thank you. "

Tevita Rei
"I am looking forward to joining Suntory Corallias at the end of this season and living in Japan very much. Although Corallias has a proud history, but Corallias will play to keep it going. I think that it is my effort to do, I am focused on playing in the Highlanders, but I look forward to my future with Saint Goliath. "

Yep you’re right.

Fa’amasuili will move into the reserve TH spot.

I’d love to know what has happened to Sa’aga. He signed a new contract at the back end of last year. Then had an injury to start the year, beyond that I have no idea what type of injury. It’s a mystery. He hasn’t been playing club, so I suspect it’s something injury related

That’s good news(for want of a better word)
A couple of years ago I thought that Him & Lomax would be the mainstays of our front row for many a year.
Then he vanished and obviously lomax took the black..that one still hurts.

Wessels has taken a little stab at the media for incorrect reporting on the Rebels financial situation, indicated he believes its leaks coming from within Australia to deliberately destabilize the club and the timing of the report was no coincidence.

It’s not like Dave to complain, he’s obviously got some thoughts on who’s trying to do this.

For all the stick the head administrators get at RA, they must have some pricks to navigate around to get anything done.

It’s worse than that, they are reporting that he said the club may be unable to pay the $75k fee when he said the opposite. It is disgraceful reporting.

But then again so was the “paying out Folau’s contract will send the ARU broke” given that they would have been planning to pay it previously. Obviously if there are punitive damages or legal costs that could be a different matter.

Lump sum verse payment over time, though.

Still, i don't think 4 million would send an organisation with revenue of 100 odd million into bankruptcy.

Well exactly, it is crazy.

Worst case, they try and pull in some cashflow early or get some loan from someone. Cameron Clyne could easily throw them a $4 million loan.

In the odd event that they were to lose, wouldn't RA be at least partially insured against legal liabilities?

re McMahon - the Rebels management, McMahon and his manager were furious with the Wallabies management/medical personnel for playing him on his injured ankle during the EOYT. i was told by someone within the Rebels set up that it was largely Cheika pushing him to play. so whether thats hearsay or not ? However, McMahon did publicly state that his body was on limited time, so he chose to stop playing Super Rugby/test rugby.

ok I have had a further brain wave on this. McGahan forced the injury in training and McMahon had a gut full of him and moved to Japan in 2016 or end of to get away. The injury was some knee or leg injury and due to inappropriate heavy stress in training. Shit house any way you look at it. But, not Cheika from my memory

No. Contrary to everyone wanting to create some conspiracy theory the main reason originally was the RA top up, then came the Force/Rebels cutting saga. It was the perfect storm. Then Sean was given plenty of opportunity with the Wallabies, who came back with a revised offer but by this stage he had already given a commitment to Suntory. Kinda similar to the current Kerevi situation.

There was a few other aspects like administration at Rebels and RA which didn’t help the situation but they were not the main drivers. Injuries, worries about long term playing ability and becoming a dad for the first time were others.

If he’s ever coming back to Australia it’ll most likely be via the Reds, who showed some interest but he wasn’t overly interested at the time due to what he perceived was some poor treatment of certain mates.
