Woeful performance by the Rebels, starting to question whether the current coaching staff are up to the task..

3 losses on the trot, over 100 points conceded in the last two games and another year of being unable to win in SA or NZ

A year that went from exceptional to start, to mediocre, has ended up a nightmare. Some Wallabies prospects playing themselves out of jerseys as well which is worrying.

To be fair the Chiefs were fairly good out there tonight!
Actually, I don't think they were. Lots of sloppy passing, line out was poor. The only thing that really worked well were the kicks to their wings. The Rebels kept handing them easy chances with very silly stuff.

Crusaders and moondoggies aside the Rebels have played the opposition into the game and lost for the last half of the season.

Basically we have beaten ourselves with pretty stupid rugby as soon as an opponent put any pressure on us.

So the Rebels lose to the chiefs by alot, the Rebels defeated the ponies twice who defeated the Chiefs by alot. This season is just screwed.

End of the day, 7 wins with only the two Brumbies wins being against a finals side says it all. This year was a massive step backwards if you ask me

We keep saying the coaching staff is not up to it. O see it on reds, Brumbies, waratahs and the wallabies forums, but coaches are getting replaces and nothing really changes.

At some point you have to look at the players.

In all australia we have few rugby players that are really smart and Game aware. Pocock is one, but we cannot expect much more from him.

We used to have lots of them

I saw one Rebel have a very good game tonight. Unfortunately he was an ex Rebel who wasn’t good enough and now will be playing in the finals

Guarantee they only beat the Brumbies as it was early in the season and their game plan hadn’t been worked out until week 4.

Wins in the first three weeks before their game plan is worked out and then can only beat the Sunwolves and the Reds.

Very poor from a coaching and strategic game plan perspective.

I thought Nasirani was bloody good again tonight. Imagine what he’d be like in a team playing well.

He must be really regretting leaving the Brumbies.

So Hodge had 6 Runs for 9 meters and kicked shocking. I would have Isi in Wallabies and thats it.

Debateable. I think most saw the potential there, but the nonsense with Force and then with Quade made the Rebels cut him loose.

I don't think he was really given a choice, hands on the scales from on high and all that meant the Brumbies were never going to be allowed to retain him.

More of a lament than a regret on his part, I imagine.

Hmm - positives from that game - we clearly won the 67th minute, outscoring them 5-0.

That's about it.

(oh, and Naisarani was good)

Gutted at that performance :(

Well maybe but he is playing a hell of a lot better for a NZ team. And he isn’t the first player to have been relatively average in Australia and improved dramatically in NZ
