Potential Tahs side for next year.

1. HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes)
2. Fitzpatrick
3. Robertson
4. Simmons
5. Hanigan
6. Dempsey
7. Hooper
8. Harris
9. Gordon
10. Harrison
11. Newsome
12. Beale
13. Foketi
14. Clark
15. Maddocks

16. Latu 17. Bell 18. Talakai 19. Swinton 20. Wells 21. Short/Robertson 22. Wileman 23. Nawaqanitawase

Not sure the cupboard is that bare.

Reckon the new coach will be asking for dispensation to recruit kiwis, that’s probably the worst Tahs squad I’ve seen in super rugby

most of them were catch and put down efforts, while its great to be able to do that and be in the right place at the right time his place on the list is more an indication of the Rebels playing style than his individual talent as a winger
Maddocks is the most overhyped player in Australia.

It's criminal he's ahead of Banks in the outside backs pecking order at Wallaby level.

i said this before but we really need to be working on recruitment NOW, with Gibson gone there needs to be a plan in place so we are not last on the ladder next season, the squad at the moment looks very weak and based on what J Maddocks showed in the later part of the season he really needs to lift his game.

We need forward that can bend the line and a solid number 8, speed on the wings and someone with a bit of size, some people are talking about A Kellaway coming back, nothing against him but the last thing we already have Clark and Newsome who are pretty much the same player

When he's in sky blue and scoring buckets of tries for you guys, I will remind you of this comment in years to come :)

I personally don't doubt his ability and talent but again his last few games have been poor, also no use having a good backline if we have a soft forward pack, bring on 2020

He has very good attacking instinct and a physique to support it, but his issue is everything he does off the ball, he looks like he has no idea what to do when it comes to rucks or supporting the ball runner, his defensive reads are quite poor as well. I personally don't think he has been coached very well outside of finding the try-line in touch football.

He's a winger, he'll always score tries. But just like Newsome and Clarke, he's not exceptional in any particular way.

tahs need the players they killed it with in 2014 - they are all still playing and doing a better job then the 2020 replacements

TPN, Kepu, Skelton, Poitgetier, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Naiyavoro.

Anyone saying Maddocks isn't worth having is nuts - the guy is young, fast, skilful, and can finish. Plus, he's pretty tall, and might fill out a bit more. A lot of potential. Trying to think if we have missed some good finishers - hmmmmm, sounds like something familiar, no, wait, it'll come to me.........

I've heard his defence is average.

It needs work. Bit like Banks in that regard. Given these 2 seem to get bracketed a lot, as a direct comparison, Banks is travelling a bit better. But both have a lot of upside. I think both could be very good players going forward.

If they have a HC in mind, they might want to wait until they're installed before chasing cattle, or at least get some preferences from "whoever". Obviously they may not have the luxury of time and need to buy while there's stock on the shelf.

I wonder if Cron has an out clause in his Japan contract now that Gibson has pulled the plug, unless the Tahs had someone else lined up. Maybe they want Cheika back post WC.
