Is Samu 100% out? I’ve seen stuff saying he isn’t travelling with the team but is there a chance he will head over seperatly? Seems awefully early in such an important game to rule him out with a strain

Jags will be tough to beat at home, on a six match winning streak and haven't lost at home since round 7. Pretty similar season to the Brumbies, a few shaky wins and close losses to open the season but have stormed into some great form in the 2nd half.
Brumbies lost by 5 points last time they met in Argentina, back in round 11. But but both teams will be quite different this time round, with some very good Jag players back from injury.
Samu out is a blow, Brumbies definitely have a solid chance here, but you can't go past the home side. Playing in front of what will be an absolutely parochial crowd, baying for blood, hollering at every near off-side etc et will prove to be too much for the Brumbies IMO.

I think the Brumbies have all the attributes to win this. They will be more than a match in all facets of set piece play. Their defence is very good and organised. BUT, while the Sharks for mine were pretty unimaginative in attack, the Jaguares are anything but. It will be a much harder defensive challenge in this match for the Brumbies.
I think it will be very close, and I think the Brumbies might sneak it by <7 points. But they need to control the pace of the game - if the Jaguares get away from them, they can cause havoc.

The major flight hub for the region is Santiago, or was when i went. So bus to Sydney, flight to Auckland, flight to Santiago, flight to BA with fuckin about in-between each stop.
I flew home from Colombia (as a poverty student) and it took me about 4 stops and 40 hours. I doubt the Brumbies budget is much bigger than mine was.

I flew to and from Argentina 22 years ago - going - 1 stop Auckland then trans-polar to BA; return - had to stop in southern Argentina at Rio Gallegos (military base) to fuel up because into the wind homewards. Didn't go to Santiago. I appreciate the carriers might have changed, but technically, can go straight to BA.
Looks like there is only one direct flight a day from Auckland to BA.
Presumably Brumbies are counting door to door. 3 hours on the bus from Canberra to Sydney, 2+ hours waiting for their flight in Sydney.
Flight out of Auckland to BA leaves at 7:55pm so they must have had a number of hours waiting in Auckland.

I don't have any doubt that we can win this. We went there earlier this year and lost because of our own mistakes, not because we weren't in a position to win it.
However, I really hope we have a strategy for not adjusting to jet lag. The last thing I want is for us to play our final this week and not be able to show up next week.
The loss of Samu isn't great, but we have Cusack, Brown, McCaffrey, Valetini, and Douglas. We're fine in the backrow.

I reckon the Chiefs completely bottled it and should have won. The Brumbies are definitely playing well enough that they can go to Argentina with a lot of confidence.

Interesting that we brought Wagner and not Ngauamo! Going to be in a world of hurt if either Folau or McInerney goes down. Also strange that we would bring Hansen on the trip when he has literally only played 4 minutes this season, but Ikitau has started games and covers 13 and stays at home?
