Thanks Waratahs!

(deadset if he so much as sniffs around AAMI Park I'll be conducting one of those effigy burning protests in the middle of Swan Street)

Word is he's added the span over Terranora Creek to the burnt Westgate and Narrows Bridges

Two of the three backrowers need to play in the 1-3-3-1. Hooper will obviously be one of them.

LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) as an example showed he wasn't the right man for the edges last year, so if you play him at 6, your 8 needs to be able to. Poet or someone like Samu.
LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) may or may not be the best person to start at 6, but the decision shouldn’t be based on how he played last year. He is a leaner, more mobile, more agile player this year. Possibly not as much of a straight up bruiser, but still physical enough got make an impact.

I don't think we'll end up with LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Naisarani starting. I think we only play LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) at 6 if we have someone like Pocock or Samu at 8.

I think that's right. A big ball carrying unit, who can jump and one who lay the hurt on in defence and at the breakdown is what's required if Cheika goes with two flankers or a flanker/eight combo under 190cm each (which would be Hooper, Pocock and Samu).

Uh huh

I've been surprised at times by his turn of pace this year.

Wasn’t Cheika meant to have cooked up a new attacking strategy? Are we still playing 1-3-3-1?

yep, those are the two issues I have with your squad.

Why is Carter at all a controversial call in any way?

Coleman isn't in any great vein of form and Simmons is the only other option in the second row that's on the cards for this year. Phillip, Hockings, Blythe etc are the next crop.

Arnold, Rodda, Carter and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is a superb crop of second rowers.

I'd take Phillip ahead of Carter, and Simmons is an underwhelming but somewhat safe bet

Amount of people calling for his inclusion is not equal to or greater than the amount of people that aren’t putting him in the team = controversial call

Safe for what? 3 shit for brains penalties per game and nothing that stands out in his game aside from a decent tackling % ?

Carter calls a better lineout, has a better % and has made more tackles, has the form/combination with the rest of the tight five that everyone is in agreement are the best choices.

Did you see the absolute dumbass penalty Carter conceded on the weekend?
Along with his 2 runs for no metres gained? Carter passed the ball once and only other thing he did was tackle decently.

Quick comparison of the players's seasons:

|Tackling| |Runs| |Run Metres| |Defenders Beaten| |Cleanbreaks| |Offloads| |Penalties|
Carter 93% 85 89m 3 1 8 11
Simmons 88% 75 111m 4 5 7 8

So, Simmons has more defenders beat, more clean breaks, 1.48m/run to 1.04m/run, and wait for it, shit for brains with less penalties conceded. And he has has had one less game.

To be honest, I think both are useless. But can't say Carter is any less shit than Simmons.

Edit: sorry, GAGR doesn't like my formatting, that data is pretty hard to read but tl;dr Carter is even more shit than Simmons.
