Can't and won't disagree with the names you have provided.

I have nothing against these two players(in fact I have followed/admired both of them from GPS days), but James Tuttle and Gav Luka have had little time on the pitch this season as I mentioned above. They have both had injuries and surgury

For them to be included I think would be hard on players who have stepped up this year in QRU and are now ready to have a go at NRC level.

as I said, both are contracted Reds players. Fit Reds players will be the first players picked.

Bond winger Robert Menzies deserves a gig I reckon, and I'd have Jeremiah Lynch ahead of Korcyzk starting in the back row.

Yep, "FIT" Reds players should be picked first.

Absolutely

But NRC is also an opportunity to bring the fitness and skill levels up of those players who have been injured, I don't agree with the sentiment that players should be counted just because they've been out injured. These are guys who have displayed potential and talent in the past, that needs to come into consideration.

I don’t think that NRC is meeting it’s full purpose unless it’s giving a shot to performers from the clubs. It does also need to give game time to franchised development players and injured.

But not just that

But if the Super players who aren't in the Wallabies aren't there the quality of rugby drops. NRC is, in my view, supposed to fill the gap between Club and Super rugby. You need these guys to play alongside club players to, hopefully, set the standard of what a Super player should be doing.

They've bought some country based players in to train with the QLD Country squad but I don't think anyone has played since the Parker boys and (I think) Will Slipper (although he may have been with GC/Bond Uni at the time)

Sure, it needs to be a balance, there are plenty of spots in the 22 of both teams for both contracted and non-contracted players to play. When you factor in Wallabies/Injuries and players departing, you really only have around 20 of the Reds contracted players playing in both teams. That still leaves over half the squad positions to players outside of the contracted roster.

I know it’s not where things have gone, but isn’t it an argument to have a third team?

Do they pick country guys who don't play Premier rugby anymore?

I don't reckon they do but I think they should. Not all of the talent ends up in Brissie, I reckon there's always a chance we can unearth a real gem. Plus it would really celebrate country rugby which has produced many fine Reds and Wallabies.

Absolutely thrilled to see that Mick Heenan is out as Brisbane city coach.

Thought he had a awesome team last year but his biggest downfall was picking his UQ players ahead of better performing QPR/Reds standouts.

What is Dan Heenan's involvement at UQ? Outside of being the Head Coach's brother? I think it's awesome they can bring some young coaches on through the NRC. Great for him to work with Jimmy McKay and Crappper

I can't believe Crappers is still going strong. Good on him he's a legend. I reckon he must've been on the staff down @ Ballymore for 20 odd years

The massive 19 year old league converted lock from Souths got a bit of a wrap by Doran on Fox. Anyone who's watched souths care to fill us in on whether he is as good as his highlights reel and worth a shot in one of the QLD teams?
