Started well with a good kick and chase that put the All Blacks under pressure. Scored a sneaky forwards’ try but otherwise failed to get himself involved in the game too much. Needed to go looking for work.

I think they watched the wrong game. Koroibete was instrumental in that win. Played halfback a couple times, hit rucks well tackled and was very opportunistic, don't think his try was a forwards try at all, lightning fast. He actually did the same move that set up Kerevi bowling over BB for White's try. He makes a half break at the ruck which allows Kerevi to get his pace up.

A few thoughts, trying not to repeat the previous ten pages:

- One of the amazing things about that game was our error count. We made virtually no silly mistakes. No soft knock-ons, no stupid penalties, no mindless chip kicks (well, maybe one actually thanks Taniela), no lineout catastrophes, no out-on-the-full kicks. I can't quite believe it.

- We also only conceded three breakdown turnovers, one of which was dubious. Considering the All Blacks picked a backrow of Savea, Cane and Read, that is truly remarkable. Our cleanouts were strong and accurate for the entire game.

- I loved the way our backs played, far deeper than we have for a while. A lot straighter as well. It was really simple but it gave our outside men so much space.

- The most pleasing part of that game was the last 20 minutes, where we kept our foot on their throat. We didn't switch off and start plugging the corners. There's a version of that game where we go into survival mode and all of a sudden it's 36-30 with five to go, and a loss is a very possible outcome.

- How good is a Monday after a big Wallaby win.

At every level he plays, Leali'ifano is good for a minimum of one spectacularly dumb error per game. It's usually a charged down clearance kick, but dreadful intercept passes are a close second.

I still think that he - by and large - put in one of the better shifts from an Australian flyhalf since the last World Cup, although we'd probably also be talking about that left-to-right pass of his that hit Ben Smith on the arse if Garces hadn't been playing advantage at the time.

They said some similar rubbish for Arnold, Rugby Pass’s player rating algorithm is largely based on how successful your team is at large (as in players get points based on how much you contribute to the team’s success, so playing with poor Super teams constrains your ratings) so they’re basically mandated to rubbish Australian players as much as they can to prop up their ratings system.

As tremendous as Genia is, I think some of this is attributable to White. Genia has an infuriating tendency to arrive behind the tackled player and just stand there like a lawn ornament, waiting for somebody else to clean out, even as the ball is being ripped away by the defence. White, on the other hand, is not reticent to clean out and does so surprisingly well, given his size.

Thought Hooper was immense as well - but it doesn't really get picked up in the things that get published. Imagine what his distance covered per game must be

Hooper was so important in just about every facet of play. As usual, he topped the metres gained amongst our forwards and many of those were in tight.

He dropped a couple of 50/50 passes but his workrate to be there in support to receive that pass is brilliant. He is always there. If we can keep improving a few of those passes will start to stick and result in tries.

He couldn't prevent the first All Blacks try but essentially he beat the first All Black, Read to the contest and we needed someone else in cover to then clear it up.

Even prior to the red card it was obvious how much the All Blacks were trying to physically target him.

In the last 5 minutes or so the ABs made a break down their left flank and Hooper somehow made it back to clean it up. Summed up the way he and the Wallabies played.

Looking at the stats our tight five made an almost unbelievable amount of metres with the ball. I seriously can't recall seeing stats like these ever before (ESPN)

Combined the starting five + reserves made 60 runs, and made 126m (!)
And it was shared around too, all of the starting 5 had 8+ runs and made double digit metres

NZ - 33 runs and 73m

Comparing with the SA match, we had 22 runs and 14m, SA had 28 and 27m
The Argie match, we had 28 and 85m, they had 39 and 63m

I seriously doubt well be able to get that kind of go-forward again. Very impressive though

I reckon he'll get two or three weeks with the guilty plea. I think the All Blacks will be trying to argue he was somehow unsighted and that is a mitigating circumstance.

It was a cheap shot. He deserves at least 3 weeks.

Bloody hell, the RWC is in 6 weeks time. That is very exciting. But yeah, if he gets >4 weeks, he'll be lacking a bit of match fitness.

I’m sure they’ll cook up some mitigating circumstances that heavily reduces the sentence. Anyway, he was being comfortably outplayed by both Arnold and Rodda, even if he was playing I don’t think it would be too much of a blow for us.
