The other big change is that Australia and NZ games have moved half an hour earlier with kick off at 7:05pm NZ time and Australian games at 7:15pm.

January starts! Think of what that means for trial matches.

Prelim games done by end of May! We really need to craft a decent season around this. Is it everyone back to club land from June onwards (well, those not playing finals)? Expanded NRC (unlikely).

Are we get tour games against State teams?

Some pretty significant changes with the off-season. Doesn’t leave much time for pre-season, teams will have to hit the ground running.

So inbound tours in July... does that mean non-wallabies will be back in club rugby from July

It was 40 degrees in Sydney on Jan 31 this year. Newcastle was 35 degrees on 8 Feb.

Going to be some tired players early in the season

The Jan start will only be for 2020. Once the comp reverts to 14 teams and single round, it will drop from 19 rounds to 16 rounds (assuming they still have two byes)

Is this locked in? Lots of talk about the SA teams wanting to play in the North.

It was also the game they chose to rest players as part of the Wallaby directive. The Sun Wolves were not much of a draw card either

"Warren Gatland's coaching team with the Chiefs has been announced but there is no update on who will coach them in 2021 when he leads the Lions against the world champion Springboks.

"Former Chiefs first five-eighth and New Zealand under-20s assistant David Hill will join the backroom staff as an assistant coach, the Chiefs announced when revealing their coaching line-up for next season on Friday.

"Hill will join the unit of forwards coach Neil Barnes, defence coach Tabai Matson, attack coach Roger Randle, scrum coach Nick White, and resource coach Andrew Strawbridge, who have all stayed on after last season. The Chiefs announced Gatland would be their new coach in July."

Rumour has it that John Mitchell will have a role in 2021 while Gatland is away on B&IL duties, possibly even caretaker coach.
