Tonights game is a bit of a dud for an opener but holy shitballs, tomorrow, Aus v Fiji should be an entertaining pasting then woah Fra vs Arg is a BIG game, then an even bigger one. Almost a bummer that the biggest round of the tourney is the opening one, almost slightly downhill to the knockouts after this.....

Richie parks Bill* where KRead will be able to find it on 2 November. They've thought of everything, these blokes :) :) :)

* the Trophy, not Beaumont.

From a technical perspective the Spark stream itself has been flawless again thus far.

In terms of what it's offering, these ads are unexpected, unwelcome, and shit. Indeed, it appears all I/we have paid for is a TVNZ stream where you can see a few All Black pool games without the delay. Perhaps not the best investment.....

I thought Russia put on a good show and surprised me.

Spark claim ~60K streamed the game, that <1% had issues, & that most of those issues were with the user's setup not their delivery.

Well that's first game so we underway. I thought not a bad opening game, although I thought Japan looked a little nervous and seemed to try a little hard to rub things, will definitely be better for the run. The Russians I thought were as good as you could hope, so would think everyone reasonably happy.

Can I add I usually strongly dislike opening ceremonies of sporting events, and don't watch bugger all of them, but I thought the Japanese hit it right smack on the head, and I enjoyed it, and enjoyed also the kids choir doing the 'world in union'. All in all well done .
And I happy it started!!!!!!!!!!

WTF is it with the modern scrummies endlessly putting up box kicks from the back of breakdowns? Hasn't the penny dropped the end result is play back where the kick took place, but without the pill? PLEASE STOP THIS SILLY PRACTICE! :mad:

They're trying to break up the defensive line. If they get the ball back then a whole bunch of defenders will be offside, and others will be all over the shop. Swing it wide and you can fart out tries like the AB's did against the Boks.

Or, at least that's what NZ are aiming for. Others may just be gunning for set pieces or something.

Read somewhere that Spark's cock-up has resulted in RWC fever not really hitting NZ shores yet?

This is a **National Abomination**and the responsible parties should be tried and executed on the nearest rugby paddock
