RWC 2019 Final: England v South Africa

England have the ability to change things up. The way they started against NZ was very clever. They hit the ball up for the first minute and then started offloading when NZ were expecting more of the same. Resulting in their try that had the Kiwis rattled.

NEw Zealand made a tactical blunder and when they tried to fix it was too late.

Surprised this has not been talked about more.

They stood off the ruck and allowed England to recycle uncontested. Totally perplexing. This allowed the Poms to get momentum.

They will not be allowed to get ball that quick against the Boks. We are going to try and slow the ball down.

The English breakdown has not been put under real pressure this whole World Cup. Let's see how well they deal with a bit of pressure and if they are still able to mix things up at will.

The only chance SA has is to force errors, something New Zealand did not do in the first half and then it was too late. We are going to get up in their face. If they deal well with that I will take my hat off to them. Let's see. I am not writing us of.

Bookies have gone from SA at 4.5 to 1 on Sunday to around 9/2 today after all the hype of the EN NZ game died down.

Go Boks. Make it a street brawl and hit on the counter.

What's Ackermans contract status
He signed a contract extension with Gloucester in March of this year, so unless he has a release clause he won't be considered.

Took them from the brink of relegation to 7th and then 3rd.

They currently lie 2nd after 2 games.

I imagine he needs another year or 2 in the post at least to further hone his skills. He would be a prime candidate in my view after the B&I Lions series in 2021, however; I can't see the Boks wanting to change coaches midway through a RWC campaign for a second consecutive cycle.

Perhaps an assistant role for him from 2021 on to the big event, with him taking over after that would be the best outcome.

The Egg Chasers podcast mentioned that all the commentators were saying England win, then commented "but they're all English commentators"

I think and hope (as a neutral) that it's more even keeled than the Ringinland Press are declaring.

There are few things quite as satisfying as the self flagellation that follows an English sporting 'failure' that has been talked up to the point of being considered a near certainty by their idiotic press.
