Super Rugby Rnd 2 2020 Lions v Reds @ Jo'burg - Sunday 12:05am AEDT

Did I read this correctly - that the Lions are hosting the Reds in Dubai.
It suggests they're giving away home town advantage for some pieces of silver.
The Lions just got tossed by the Jaguars in Argentina & have to travel back to Dubai, so I'm thinking the Reds could be in a good space here for a win.
High temperatures shouldn't worry them after the torrid conditions they've experienced in trial games & in Canberra.Unless this is an indoor game?
I'm tipping the Reds.

This seems like something worth checking before writing the post about it.

Too much to ask for date & time in the OP, OP?

We've had success @ Ellis Park vs the Vaalies in the past, let's hope it's a performance worthy of the 1995 visitors.

ps Slats, what a bloody legend

Big test for the Lions. They are much better then that scoreline against the Jaquares.

I think a lot of things fall in the Lions favour. Home game. Altitude. The Reds youthfulness. Lions game to lose.

Lions will run away with it in the second half after the reds collapse under an increasingly savage penalty count.

It won't be that any of the penalties were undeserved, it'll just be that the lions won't be penalised at all for doing the very same things.

Oh and two tries will be disallowed by the TMO for forward passes after reviewing it in extreme super slow motion indicating that they have absolutely no understanding of physics whatsoever.

Yep. Every touring side in SA suffers from this but the Reds have a particularly torrid time of it, perhaps because their discipline has been suspect anyway the last few years.

Two other predictions based on bitter experience of staying up til 3am over the years. One, the commentators will spend the whole second half lamenting, with an impressive lack of self-awareness, the woefully bad discipline of the Reds in comparison to their pristine Lions.

Two, during a stoppage in play the local broadcaster will put up endless slow motion replays on the big screen that show a Reds player making slight contact above the shoulder in a tackle until the ref notices and calls time off. 5 minutes of angles later the Reds player will be yellow carded. Later on a Reds player will be left shitminced on the ground after a late tackle in back play that the broadcaster manages to avoid showing any replays of whatsoever, so even the home viewers only see it for a split second.

It would seem that Josh Nasser will be in line to make his debut off the bench. Not sure who for. Big step up.

Lucas dropped to the bench? Wonder if this is on performance last weekend or because of the conditions they'll be playing in?
