World Rugby HSBC Sevens Series

Aussie men again performing well in the pool stages in Vancouver.

But Canada, at their home tournament, beats Fiji :) (something we need to learn to do)

Awesome try from Lachie Miller!

Chased by Isles but just had enough lead to get there

^ Extremely elusive feet shown in that last game by Miller. Was out-stepping Maurice Longbum.

the turnaround in the re-starts has been incredible. It's at let us down big time in the NZ leg.

They are playing exceptional 7s at the moment. Need to replicate it tomorrow though. Beating USA twice, and not letting Baker nor Isles score against us either time - something they've almost done at will previously, is a fantastic showing

Yep. And if you were going to choose a seeding for the quarterfinals, TBH, this would be it:

Aussie men on in an hour in semi vs hosts Canada.

Thoughts on Lachie Anderson getting a gig in Super Rugby next year? Looks a 13 to me and there is a team in Sky Blue that could desperately use one

Eastwood boy. Maybe he would need to switch to one of the favoured clubs.

Through to the final by the skin of our teeth. We've had some luck with the draw but it's nice to see some improvement.

Unbelievable how the draw has worked to our advantage, but everyones entitled to a bit of luck now and then.
we’ve been much stronger at the breakdown, and have secured great turnovers all weekend.
3.60 in the final is overs!

Bottled it. Should have won. A man up with 1:30 to go, 10m out but couldn't score. A shame because I really liked how patient we were in attack this tournament. It just deserted us when we needed it most.

L Holland is a shadow of his former self.
weve got the ball, they are one man down, and he has go all in,on the very first phase off a penalty.

lets not even address the 3 on 1 outside him....

disclaimer, talking through my kick.....

Holland was excellent this tournament. That perhaps wasn't the right option, but it was also barely forward (as a few of his other long passes were called). I thought he was exceptional. He set up the defensive mismatch with Longbottom just before half time. Plus his kick offs were about 95% sensational and a big reason we got as far as we did.

the other "L's" in Lachie Miller and Lachie Anderson were also brilliant.

Interesting lack of use of the bench. We basically carried Rod Daves and Trae Williams. I hope Williams sticks with it - I think he will be a sensation.

Holland was fine in the final. We were a little harshly done by with some calls but ultimately NZ proved their rugby IQ by running down over a min of the clock with only 1 tackle been made.

Holland's got the best pass on the circuit. Just wrong option, unfortunately, hands would of got Aussie in the corner.

I watched the last two tournaments and L Holland has been fantastic, he set up a few passes on day 1 through some great passes, I agree that was a shit pass though in the final though.

Yeah, he was last pass on a few tries, but I’m not of the opinion that they wouldn’t have been scored without him there.

he consistently gets beaten in the outside, I think he lost a lot of pace when he did his knee a few seasons ago.

happy to be one out with that opinion.
