Also the Waratah's back line recruitment has a lot to answer for- how do the Brumbies end up with two top athletes Solomon Kate and Tom Wright, yet we get Alex Newsome and James Ramm?

Even as a Tahs' supporter, I could watch the footage of Wright completely breaking Mark's ankles with his first touch again and again.

Hard marker of your own. Sharks only ahead of you on the table as they’ve played one more game.

That one burns deep........... such a dumb loss.

In the lead with possession and only seconds remaining on the clock......... I think I’d prefer it if they had been comprehensively beaten.

You’ll note I didn’t make any reference to the broader game or the predictable result. It doesn’t change the fact that in that moment Rob Simmons made the Brumbies defence look amateur.

Just can't fathom why the Brumbies aren't last on the ladder. Their defense has so many holes in it.:(

Yeah, chalk and cheese. Also add Simone and Hunt to those lists as well.

For what it's worth, I think Maddocks showed a higher level of interest and was involved more once he moved to No 15. As far as I know, he left the Rebels because he wasn't getting time at 15; probably thought Beale was a certainty to take the 10 spot. The unfortunate timing of his move to 15 is that the season has now been curtailed, at least for some time. If that's the last we've seen of KB (Kurtley Beale) in the Tahs, and importantly in the Wallabies, it won't be lamented.

Hooper again busy and Harrison showed that he is promising but still behind Lolesio. In summary, none of the Tahs outplayed their Brumbies counterparts.

I wonder why Wright didn't start, Muirhead was solid but Wright looks so dangerous with ball in hand.

Ryan Lonergan's goal kicking is very handy too. Not easy kicks too and he's 100%.

McKellar mentioned in the after match interview that the wingers are being rotated and it was Andrew's turn this week.

I do feel more confident about Ryan's goal kicking than Noah's. but have to say Noah was very good today.

They are all quality wingers so I get the rotation policy by McKellar as way to keep your top talent firing

I’ll take the obvious bait here and say Hooper pretty clearly outplayed Miller. I also thought Angus Bell was pretty damn good at scrum time and around the park, a couple of years and he’ll be a mainstay Wallaby.

That said, some of the Brumbies were outstanding. I reckon for every bit as good as Harry Wilson has been in attack this season, Rob Valetini has been as good in defence—ragdolls blokes in the tight and cuts them down in space. He could be the Wallaby version of Steph Du-Toit and he alongside guys like LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Naisarani, Tupou and AAA could go a long way to matching the Saffa pack physically.

Hooper outplayed Miller. But if you compare him to Samu...... who wins that battle?

Can't believe i'm saying it but Simmons was one of the Tahs best. He even ran the ball well. I think he'll once again nab a wallabies squad jersey and fill in when some of the more fancied locks cop an injury.

Yep, Maddocks ran onto the ball at pace quite consistently from the moment he moved to FB. It looked good. Hope to see more of it.

He hasn't got over 100 caps from being a numpty, despite what other posters may say. His defense is good, his set piece is excellent and yes he did run the ball well in what may be the last Super Rugby match before a Test match is played.
At this point I'd pick Rodda and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) as starters a and either Neville, Phillip or Simmons on the bench. The likes of Hockings, Blyth and Swain behind those 3 at this point IMHO

I get a sense that Simmons has good leg extension and is lighter than most other locks.
Hence he can explode into the air and get lifted quicker. This plus his ability to call the right lineout option makes him particularly valuable.

Be missing a trick if LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) doesnt get lock for the Wallabies. Pair him with a caller like Simmons or Rodda and we are in business

Or he is just blessed with a good vertical leap, a rugby brain and good hands
