Yeah Hodge saying he's doing focused speed work and practicing his left foot grubber was an excellent approach to this time off.

Watched the Crusaders v Rebels 2015 match last night. How good was McMahon. He was only 25 years old, that's nuts. He will be coming into his prime soon for a backrower, still time to get him home.

On a similar note, I've been quite impressed with Jonny May's rise. I used to think he was a pretty useless winger with a lot of speed to burn but he's now arguably in the top 3 wingers in the world. He's 30 years old, Koroibete, Hodge and Kellaway are 27, 25 and 24 respectively. Anything can happen with time & experience.

Do the Rebels align their players with local clubs? As in that's where they would be expected to play if they were dropped etc?

Is there a list of club alignments does anyone know?

In previous years every Rebel player was allocated to a club. I haven't seen a list for 2020 though.

AFAIK, some have played Dewar Shield, some have been sent off to Shute Shield.

News is that Jeral Skelton of the 7s program has been released from the 7s contractual list. He was due to join the Rebels next year, however obviously that’s all now in doubt. Very promising young player, that’s physically a beast. Work rate is an issue.

Wessels in the OZ saying Rangi and Cottrell are off to Japan and were arranged pre-covid.
Yep always says Kellaway has interest from Japan but wants to stay. The rumors to the US are interesting, even with a recalibration of the salaries there will still be more to earn here than there at present.

Hooker and blindside are prob the 2 positions best suited to be replaced with Uelese and Leota/Kemeny.

Kellaway would be a blow

Interesting that Philip's name didn't come up. Last time it was mentioned Wessels sounded as though he was pretty confident Philip would stay.

I'd be surprised if Kellaway left without having a good crack at making the Wallabies.

Remember watching something about that, he pretty much said Philip wants to play for the Wallabies and won't be going anywhere.
