Blues are unchanged save for Marchant on the bench.

Not much to say really except that this is, unfortunately, to be Marchant's final match. That being the case, it seems the gentlemanly thing do is for the Highlanders to capitulate into an utter heap by halftime so Joe can get a decent final run. That and it will really help out the Blues points difference, which may ultimately be what's required for the good guy Blues to topple the Evil Empire of Christchurch.

C'mon Highlanders. Do your part and return to your original Super Rugby season form. For the greater good.

Well will be interesting to see how Sotutu and Mikaele Tu'u go head to head, and I getting interested if Akira can keep looking like he interested in playing rugby and improves a bit more on last week where on he actually started to look like a loosie.

North v South AB trial set for 29 August, selection on the basis of which province you first represented: so Jack Goodhue, JBar & ScoBar would represent South despite being from Northland & Taranaki, AL-B & DMac the North despite being from Cheechee & Invercargill. Venue & coaches TBA but surely Razor & Plumtree would have to be the early favourites.

Fozzy now talking about four Bledisloes with the first in Wellywood on 10 October so with Rennie having said the same a coupla weeks back that would appear to be a done deal.

So, it's basically going to be the Crusaders + maybe Jordie McNuggets vs the Blues + Sex Pest Smith and Retallicka (if available?)?

Wild weather in Auckland today - actual tornadoes, even - and now the trains aren't running to Eden Park on account of planned maintenance that was booked last November. Signs & Omens, y'all!

Sorry Dismal, it's TJ in the comm box again.

It's a week late but Constable Hunt gets a moment's silence. And a flyby from the Police helicopter.

Panty Panty Parkinsons career effectively ended in 1st half of this match. What a giant wuss.

Entire Blues 1st XV to be drafted into AB set up.
