2020 Super Rugby Round 1 (REDUX): Brumbies v Rebels

QLD just ramped up their travel restrictions on all Melbourne sporting teams, Rebels - Reds won't be happening any time soon.

Though I presume ACT won't follow?

Reds v Rebels likely to be moved to Brisbane unless Melbourne get the bye next week and Reds play Brumbies instead

Rebels have been located in Canberra since Friday. Seems they are looking at staying here and playing their home games in Canberra. One way or another I expect the Rebels/Reds game will proceed, just at a different location.

Rebels will struggle to get any wins this year after these opening rounds. Being on the road for that long is very tough.

I think there is a fair chance of that final match up. I think two of Brumbies, Rebels and Reds will be fighting out the final.

You have picked over half the competition to make the Grand Final, of the others one team only won 1 from 6 before the shut down and the other hasn't played in a competition for a few years.

You'll be lucky to get a return of $1.01 from any batting agency for that one ;)

Bandar fair point. I was just trying to say that KevinO wasn't being optimistic as Dctarget suggested and that it is a realistic chance.

On paper the Reds are a better side in my opinion, but on form Rebels should take second spot.

Might be behind the times but didn't realise Stolberg or Ma'afu were with the Rebels.

Someone mentioned Stolberg was hanging out with the Rebels so it's not unexpected but can't remember a signing. Don't know anything about Ma'afu?

i think the Brums pack and bench a little better. Seems that Cottrell and Rangi, who are leaving wont figure much, i assume Issi is injured ? Do we know if Stolberg is better than K'berg ?

Brumbies starting & reserve front row are going to spank the Rebels. Their backrow is much better too. I think Rebels locks are better.

^^^K'Berg has impressed me,

I wonder if he is still around, would not have been able to get Jobkeeper etc like the lower contracted players.

Would have English on the bench instead of Deegan.

me also, but i saw Cobus Eloff at training so he stayed around, the big K may have gone back to SA. if you go 6/2 English does offer a bit more coverage, but i think long term you have to give Deegan as much time as possible to succeed or fail.
