The first half was average by both teams. But I was happy with the second half (maybe I was watching it through Rebels eyes). Yes we could have scored more but we made the Tahs do a lot of tackling.
As for Tahs wow they did some dumb things, why would Hooper infringe before half time when they were warned next offside penalty would go to the bin and the Tahs had already given away a penalty at the lineout?

Hooper and Hanigan had some moments. Harrison too, nice little break when he got a chance to run it, plus his kicking is on the mark. Newsome I feel is generally playing well. Scrum looks to have a lot of potential. They scrambled well and made a lot of tackles. Even though there were a lot of breaks they stopped many of these before they were converted into try’s. Did I mention they made a lot of tackles. The work ethic is there. They need to up their fitness (seem to be struggling to set the rush defence at times) and reign in the silly offsides and soft penalties.

Not many people know but Wessels uses Jake White as a regular contact for information. They officially play a deformed version of Jakeball. They are Australia’s version of a SA side, big bodies, tight play, centres who’s no.1 job is to pressure on line speed and wingers that are opportunistic. As a fan I’m just looking for wins, but they do play a brand that drags teams into a dog fight.

I will never not enjoy beating the Tahs by 19 points. That'll be one of the Rebels biggest point margins over an Aus side. Rebels fans will be quite pleased with that. Sucks to be a Waratahs fan though...
If the Rebels learn how to convert field pressure that'd be useful, but gee the forwards were great. Making metres everywhere. Lose Hockings and Rodda, gain Hosea. He was bloody amazing. Don't know if it was all him but the lineout was awesome. I thought DHP's first half was very solid, breaks the tackle everytime. Koroibete's name is first on the teamlist for Wallabies.

Wasn't nearly as bad as some posters claim. Maybe mostly Tahs fans. Both sides played with intent but poor handling had an impact.
Best on ground by a massive margin was Matt Philip. Huge workload in attack and defense. Dozens of hitups usually winning a the contact, hit multiple rucks and made a mass of tackles. Much needed to partner LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) in the Wallabies second row.
To'omua much better at 10 in the first half. Harrison not effective at all in comparison.

Eh?... I think I'd like to see the stats on that one. With Rebels having what was it, 80% possession I think it was, I'd have a question mark over how many tackles they were making.

Nah give it a watch, it was enjoyable from a Rebels POV. We made heaps of linebreaks and did some nice stuff just failed to convert it all (still managed to score 29 points). Our 2nd row was brilliant and stole a heap of ball and secured our own. Pone continued to bump off players at will.

So nothing different to most weeks. Which is why I’ve stopped watching. Same errors of option taking and execution forever. Just frustrates the shit out of me. I dont see any real improvement in this playing cohort over the past three years. I’m very happy there are more home growns playing but I’d prefer to see an improvement in decision making, skills and execution. As I said after the Reds game I’m done watching live.
