I would love them to try this and actually stick with it for a couple of games. Having a genuine second playmaker at 12 I feel would allow them to find those edges better.

There was a lot of space on numerious occassions and whilst To'omua overall had a good game in many ways I still question his vision and ability to see genuine opportunities at times.

I'm really not sure Kellaway is 13 for me either.

Yeah Kellaway had a pretty ordinary game. Can’t imagine 13 is anything more than a stopgap for him.

I know he played there a bit for Northhamption, new combo.. etc..etc.. I'm just not sure that's where you want him. Maybe he'll convince me otherwise.

Wessels said in the press conference that he’s just playing there because there isn’t many other options in the squad atm. Even described him as 4th choice behind Magnay, English and Hodge.

So, Magnay is injured and English is stuck in Melbourne?

Does night time really affect a kick as much as the commentary team said it does?

Been awhile since I've had to apply my physics but I'd imagine it would affect it - temperature, humidity, the elasticity of the material at different temperatures.. etc.. how much, I couldn't say. I'm sure there are some papers about it amongst the physics/sport science journals.

The air is denser when it's cold so the ball itself travels a shorter distance. And the transfer of energy between the foot & ball is less efficient.

Lots of info on the effect on golf.

That’s correct. Sounded like Magnay is first choice 13. I have no idea how far off Semisi Tupou is, he did his ACL in preseason which is normally 8-9 months. The club sees him as a centre into the future, played at 13 for the u20s last year.

He looked a lot better with Quade on his inside.
indeed he did, but so does every other intelligent footballer who can run into holes, imagine how destructive TK or Hunter Paisami would be with a QC (Quade Cooper) at top form. I havent seen enough of Lolesio (Brums) to know he he is able to exploit those skills in Kurandrani

2016 force beat 2020 force. Very even teams which is mental considering the rebels have so many Wallabies. What Does it say more about? the force being an actual super rugby quality side or Australian rugby lacking any really decent players ?

I actually think you've assembled a pretty decent squad that just suffers in depth. Except for a few positions, your players are as good if not better than their Rebels counterparts:

1. Orr & Heiberg seem pretty equal. Heiberg was better last night.
2. Uelese is better than Kaitu'u
3. Longbottom & Ainsley are similar, maybe Ainsley is a bit better.
4/5. Thought Thrush isn't great and was poor last night, I'd take Hosea, FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) & Haangana before him. FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) seems to be a find.
6. I'd take Stowers over Wells.
7. I'd take Hardwick over Ferris.
8. Naisarani is a class above Stander.
9. I'd take Frisby & Prior over Lomani. Probably over Louwrens too.
10. To'omua is better than Lance, though Lance is super quality.
11. Koroibete is class, better than Brache but I'd take Brache over Deegan at 13.
12/13. I'd take Kahui and Godwin over Meakes/Deegan
14. Easily take Ralston over Pincus.
15. Hodge easily over McGregor.

Rebels bench spanks the Force's.

Going through that list, Force's starting XV have at least 6 players I'd take over their counterparts and a few more that I see as equal. Force are quality and should win a game soon.

Having now watched the replay. I think the Rebels overall were the better team, especially in the second half. Definitely playing a variation of Jakeball and trying to smother opposition onto submission. Gardiner who i generally think is a good ref had an off night, a few very odd decisions imo. For the Rebs Hosea impressed again, Pincus did well, Louwrens has gone off the boil. Kellaway simply had no opportunity in attack. Might finish up a Brumbies - Rebels final afterall

Doubt it - reds vs brumbies final for my mind - Rebels 3rd , tahs 4th and force 5th...Force could possibly be 4th...

Yeh that's interesting but true. How did the force end up with so many players that Aussie rugby didn't want but are better than lots of players in super?

How did the Brumbies become a better team than the Tahs and Reds when the large amount of their players at the start were players not wanted by the other two teams?

The way I read it was that most of the players from the Force that are better than the Rebs are not Australian so weren't eligable for Super Rugby in it's old form
