Reds 2021

Parata being back in QLD is very, very interesting.

Many good judges were very sad to see him go.

Also, speaking of TSS prodigies - how is Dion Samuela going?

Tyler Campbell was a standout schoolboy for TSS about 6 years ago and spent the last 5 years over in New Zealand. Initially he was in the Crusaders academy for at least two years and has played ITM cup the last 2 years. He's back in Brisbane playing for Norths this season and I'd like to see how he goes in Premier Grade

Three years ago, 2018.

Well the recent 19 and 20 yr old standout 10s through the school system in Brisbane were..Pasitoa, Gordon and Lolesio.

Uh Oh..

mmmmmaybe Pasitoa is coming back! Brumbies already have Lolesio and Kuenzle.
orrrrrr back to the future with Lance?
orrrrrr Strachan returns from WF duty?

Given quality of Lolesio, Kuenzle and Pasitoa it make sense for Reds to go for one of these. Lolesio and Kuenzle already proved they are super rugby ready and given hype on Pasitoa imagine he would not be far away

Really feel for the Reds, losing Lucas, Hockings, Rodda in such a combative way left me feeling sour and this doesn't help. Gordon is young and when his contract is done with the Rebels he'll only be 22, still a long time to play for the Reds. As we've seen with Petaia, having the young superstar isn't great if he's not on the pitch.

Wonder if Deegan is going to the Reds in a straight swap or maybe To'omua is going home too?
Deegan should be starting at 10 and To’omua at 12 imo

Give me Pasitoa any day tbh.

I know he is unproven but that suits us from a development point of view.

It's professionalism. What did the Reds offer him for 2021 onwards? What did the Rebels offer him?

He's been a full time squad member this year presumably on the minimum full time contract. Isn't turning up and giving it all he has whilst he's under contract what is expected of him?

It's not like any of the teams offer contracts to players they don't want because they feel like they owe the player for past deeds.

If teams are thinking that their players should feel indebted to them then they are surely taking those players for granted and risking having another team sweep them out from under their feet.

That's your opinion, I'm just saying if a club had given me a contract for 2 years whilst I finished school and developed physically, then I would feel personally indebted. Professionalism or not.

I'm hearing some stories....typical Picone work here. Shame the Rebels have got involved in it.

Is there proper accreditation for player agents here? If so you have to wonder if Piccone has breached the terms of it at some point. Particularly with respect to Hockings. He was off contract at the end of the season and by that time was likely to be a capped wallaby by that time, at which point he would have had much better options and offer's available to him here and abroad. I can't see how leaving at the same time as the wallaby starter directly in front of him for club and country was in any way a positive career move for him. I can see how it helped give Rhodda more bargaining power though.

For those uneducated and without an ear to the ground. Are you able to share even if it's generalities? Would be great if the wider public knew how Picone conducted himself.

Carter Gordon has moved on and so should we. This kid’s skill has captivated me for years and if we can’t have him at the Reds we can back him in Australia. Interesting that Parata is here right now. He would be a serious consideration at a quality flyhalf. Two years under with the Crusaders comes with merit.

I have zero respect for players who leave QLD because they are impatient.

McMahon’s etc are different because they weren’t given a shot.

Carter can get in the bin, bring Pasitoa back.

Picone should lose his license, for whatever reason he is actively trying to do harm to the Reds organisation.

Can’t remember anything like it.

So if you had a job while finishing school and the first couple of years out, say at Macca's, you wouldn't have taken another job that pays better and you feel will give you a better opportunity? These guys are professional and have the option to go where they want.

While we can get upset at Picone he works for his client. They make the final call, hopefully in consultation with their family.

This is how it looks to me.
