Super Rugby Au Round 9 - Rebels vs Waratahs, 7:15pm Sat 29th August

OK, OK. Fill me in. I regrettably think he had a TOTW game. Please, PLEASE, explain my error. ;)
Yes, another half dozen of those he might have lost his spot in the TOTW. I didn’t mind the low percentage play though, he was chasing an already unlikely bonus point.

You need a bonus point win.

We got a bonus point tonight, so we need to win by 4 or more points to have better points difference than Tahs. If we win by 3, and Tahs and Rebels have same points difference who goes through. (I was looking at points column earlier when I was trying to work out points difference)

I would assume the Tahs, as they won tonight.

Are you talking about points on the ladder or differential?

You are 5 points behind Tahs on the table after tonight, so you can equal Tahs with a bonus point and your for and against would be superior having won by that margin. No bonus point means you don't go through

Rebels got a losing bonus point tonight. So Tahs are on 19 points and Rebels are on 15. So if we win next week the Rebels and Tahs will be on 19 points.

In terms of point differential the Tahs are 15 and the Rebels are 12. So if the Rebels win by 4 or more points the Rebels make finals. If the Rebels win by 1 or 2 points or lose the Waratahs go through.

My question is if we win by 3 points, the Rebels and Tahs will be equal on points and points difference, who goes through then?

Go to ESPN or Fusesport and look at the standings. Rebels are on 14, Tahs on 19

Those websites are incorrect. Super Rugby website and Fox Sports coverage has Rebels on 15 points.

Rebels had three wins (3 x 4 points = 12), a draw (1 x 2 points = 2), 1 losing bonus point tonight (1 x 1 = 1). 12 + 2 + 1 = 15

My bad. Flashscore has them listed at 14

Hard to not see Rebels not getting bonus point win next week..

12 of 14 matches (or similar) between Rebels and Force have a margin of 7 points or less. Rebels have had plenty of chances last 2 or 3 years to sew up finals spot (including tonight) and haven't. Force's last game they would love nothing more to bring up their first win of season and knock Rebels out of finals contention.

Forgive me if I am not confident.

Wessels needs to go. He has had so many experienced players and they have gone nowhere. He has had the team to win it and keeps failing.

I like the rebels but they need a better coach

If you Mexicans wish to play this game, I have one request. Make sure the bloke coming in is actually and palpably better.

Otherwise Wessels.
