Rebels 2021

Not flush, but not exactly struggling either.
I think for 2021 they have Daugunu, Vunivalu, Wright and Ramm all signed.

Koiroibete is obviously worth his weight, id he interested to see what the difference between his current contract and offered contract is.
Wow! That’s a great signing coup for the Melbourne Rebels!

Rebels have locked down Daugunu, Vunivalu, Wright & Ramm?

Ramm only signed a 2-year contract extension for Tahs in August? Wright for another year with Brumbies at about the same time?

. . . or are you talking about RA trying to lock down players?

Was talking about RA releasing Koroibete, and how they might justify it based on the other wingers they have signed for 2021.

I apologies for referring to non rebels players in the rebels thread :/

Koro is a world class winger in great form - it would be pretty bold seeing as the other 3 are untried at international level.

That said money talks at the moment.

I think we could see some guys leave on a 1yr grace period to Japan where they miss SRAU play 1 top league season but return in time for any TT component in the second half of next season

aha it's just you replied to my not flush with wingers comment which referred to the Rebels. On a Wallabies level I'm not fussed, for Melbourne I'm worried

Any word on Koegelenberg?

I assume that lock has left the flock?

Is headed to Kurita Water Gush with Deegan and Hanigan:

The powerful South African Gideon Koegelenberg (Melbourne Rebels) arrives and should win without worry in the second row. Finally, Australian opener Andrew Deegan (Melbourne Rebels) takes the place of New Zealand international Tamati Ellison (retired).

With no Olympics or World Series why wouldn't he. 7s unfortunately is stuffed.
I’m confident that the Olympics will go ahead. There isn’t many major competitions in a sporting context that have been abandoned or haven’t found a way to happen this year. It could be it’s just without spectators and participants fly in and out only for events. It’s still 9 months away, so you’d like to think more information and expertise on the virus would of developed by then, making it more likely than the current environment.

15,000 athletes and I'd imagine at least 20,000 support staff, not to mention officials. Logistically, I just can't see how you could quarantine that many people despite the eagerness of NBC.

I think it will happen, certainly not as big as normal (Eric the eel types won’t be there) and sports not mingling so it’ll be very different.

Might be wrong, but I reckon he was Eric the Eagle. Maybe thinking of a different character - a somewhat less than standard ski jumper. Was there a swimmer identified as an eel?
