Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

So, in the end it is 1.1.2 to the bad guys and we have debuted Bell, McReight, Wilson, Swinton, McDermott, Lolesio, Simone, Paisami, Daugunu & Wright plus resurrected BPA - all of whom, except Simone, showed they can play at this level (and that is not meant to say Simone can’t - he just hasn’t proved it. You’d imagine he’ll be better for the experience.)

I think if most people were honest they would have taken that at the start of the Bledisloe series.

Honestly thought I was going to need this if Swinton stayed on

The satisfaction of a Wallabies win and knowing the Brumbies have signed Nic White.

Mixed feelings for Brumbies fans tonight, well those Brumbies fans that don’t death ride the Wallabies.

So good having a 10 defend in the 10 channel.

And that was against the ABs, imagine if we let him develop, and evolve there.

Noting he played all his junior rugby @ 10, all the way through to Aus 20s.

Rennie has brought this squad a long way in 4 games against the darkness. All those debuts and a few re-positionings. The future looks bright once again.
Reece Hodge is the ultimate super sub and pretty good anywhere from 10 to 15. I look forward to the next couple of games.

Chalk and cheese performance from the Wallabies. From intimidated pretender street punk to full blown Goodfellas Joe Pesci "funny how.....how am I funny, what i make you laugh"........laugh on this Noo Zealand....bang!

No change to selections, build on this!

I thought a number of players earned their reprieve tonight, and some quality performances off the bench..........

Lolesio looked so much sharper without the added pressure of starting.

McDermott really should be given a start next match.

Wright solid in his debut.......... Swinton not so much.

Surprisingly, I thought Paisami at 12 was the standout of the two centres.

Swinton was pretty much on track to a MOTM performance before the card. I think he has cemented his spot ahead of Hanigan despite the card. His tackling and line-out work was superb.

I’d like to see him given another crack if he can get through a half of rugby..........

Paisami was excellent again. He missed a couple of tackles but made some telling ones as well. The bloke is just tough as nails and made for test footy.
Would not be a bad selection to play Hodge at 12 outside JOC (James O'Connor) until To'omua returns with Paisami on the bench covering 12/13.

Either way its good to have genuine competition for most positions.

Really good to get a win. Need to be playing all Wallabies games at Suncorp or Perth as mentioned (Sydney is too close to Auckland).

Hodge played to the best of his ability, still have my doubts about his passing ability but as a solid runner and defender he can do it at test level. Potentially an option at 12 when JOC (James O'Connor) comes back or just bench cover I don't mind. Banks has cemented 15 for mine and Wright definitely deserves more tests at wing to prove himself. Paisami can definitely do it at test level. So seems we have a group of guys that provide multiple options in all positions from 9 to 15 which is great.

As all have mentioned its great that we have blooded players this series but think we just need to start with more consitent teams and get some rhythm. If this game show anything that at test level defending is king, if you can't defend then you ain't going to win.

Look forward to the tests against the Argies now, really would like Samu or Naisarani (who was good for Aussie XV against Arg) to get a run at 8 now. Our pack is starting to get look test quality so nice with some boys that can run hard with ball in hand in there.
