It's a shame there's no regional matches. I really liked that initiative / idea. But with only 5 matches to choose from and with the covid times, it's understandable.

Pass it to Dunning!

Regional matches aren't smart business sense. In addition to lower ticket sales, you have to pay for travel and accommodation for your own team. None of that is needed for home games.

I don’t think it’s quite that straight forward. You also potentially grow your membership & supporter base and increase tv viewing numbers, all of which contribute to the bottom line.

On a cost centre basis lots of investments appear to run at a loss without consideration in the broader business.

I’m not saying that the Tahs are wrong in this case with limited games, but if regional games didn’t work no-one would ever do them.

Hmmm.. had to go back a few pages. Missed the fact that we'd picked up Perese, though I'd heard rumours before Christmas.

This is a squad of a lot of unproven or burgeoning talent, sprinkled with some genuine future stars. I really don't know where to pitch my expectations this year. I'm rather keen to see how Tizzano and Gamble go... also keen to see what Porecki's experience might bring too... In a way this is Penney's first real squad, though the budget sure doesn't look to reflect past years.

Three five eighths (15 eighths) means a lot of clever juggling by the coach unless we want to see one of them with a lot of time out of the match day squad.

3 is pretty standard in a squad. Plus Edmed is just a kid and should be (maybe is) on a development contract. Plus Donaldson is the backup 15.

As far as flyhalves go its quite weak, all developing.

Centres and outside back certainly reads missing some star power. Midfield backs has no rock stars......outside backs - Ramm sure shown potential but not much else there - Maddocks been too inconsistent to be called star power. While you have for flyhalfs Harrison still earning his stripes with potential with others really just development backup.

To me they are definitely looking wooden spoon candidates and my prediction is they will collect the wooden spoon given this is now their official squad. Lacking quality and depth and this is not a super rugby quality squad. Only good thing I suppose is they must be well under the salary cap as per their plans with that sort of squad.

Stars?
Rock stars?
Star power?

Do you want a team or to go to a concert?

With that team I think I would rather go to a concert. Sorry I find it pretty uninspiring....compared to say Reds squad / players....Brumbies squad / players...Force squad players...this is a bloody weak squad

And yet they will monopolise the public broadcast along with Reds.
