Highlanders v Queensland Reds, Forsyth Barr Stadium, Friday 26 May

Lame, Highlanders kept buckling at during those last scrums.

Hard to close out those types of games when your reserves are on the park during the first half.

Fucking unbelievable. All landers points came from fucked decisions. Unbelievable
I only caught the end but in a bittersweet kind of way I was glad the Highlanders scored a try to win because if they had of won it from a penalty goal for a scrum they collapsed I would have been pretty pissed off

Yep I didn't think ref called advantage, I thought he just told Fakatava to play it?

Despite the loss, that was probably one of the Reds’ most complete performances of the season. Some amazing moments, a limited number of errors, and overall more polished performance. A huge team effort in the face of early losses to key players.

The last one was fair enough. Even if they hadn’t scored the try the penalty against Zander was obvious.

The Reds did some really good things but also just made some basic mistakes at times when they needed composure.

As Dan said, Landers didn’t have the penalty there - granted, they should have, Zander got monstered again

Was an entertaining match. Pretty ambivalent over who to support, but cool that Smith won his final home match.

Will take some time getting used to watching a Highlanders (or All Blacks) match without the distinctive sounds of a seagull being indecently accosted at every breakdown.

He shouldn’t be anywhere near a Super Rugby team, I actually get the shits when he starts for the Red Heavies. Alex Davies is a far better LHP.

I'm struggling to continue watching Super Rugby with the inconsistency in officiating, the same incident in two different matches can vary between 'play on' and a 'red card'. There's some good referees in Super Rugby and there are pretty some average ones, I thought tonight was a relatively poor example of officiating, not just by the on-field referee but the TMO, it was inconsistent with the standard and threshold set in other matches.

At least the NRL is consistent in the application of the rules, even if they are pretty dam stupid at times.

Tell you what other thing to note, thought Reds were bloody unlucky with injuries , and Clan have had an incredible number too. Reds I think will need to beat Drua next week to hold onto finals, Clan won't do it, they will lose to Blues.

Yeah. If the Reds can’t win in New Zealand losing Uru before the game and then both captains and another lock on the back of Smith and Jones and obviously Tupou then they can just give up now!
100% agree Reg and I thought there were some terrific efforts out their tonight. Wilson & McReight outstanding as always but also some guys like Blyth, Nonggorr & Faessler.

Still though - can’t help but be disappointed. Just little errors or soft turnovers at bad times really hurt them.
