We do not comment on "the word that shall not be used...schola........."

I don't wish to be controversial, but you post this (above) but then you talk of triangle scholarships a few posts back. Everyone knows what you are inferring with the triangle scholarships, so is it ok to comment on triangle scholarships but not "the word that shall not be used...schola........." ?

To be completely honest, this forum shouldn't be discussing 'imports' etc., as none of us really know what goes on in terms of scholarships, and i think you'll find (as a teacher I know this), that all AAGPS schools run under the same point system that dictates how much money they can put towards scholarships, its just that some schools but it to different things then others.

Regardless, lets just focus on the talented footy that is put in front of us and the amazing athletes that we get to watch each Saturday.
What points system?

1. One is using the actual word we do not use
2. My post did not use the word and was banter between two long time members.

Banter- Noun- the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks.

Get yours in soon. One of the most anticipated rounds with the battle of Catholics taking centre stage. Each school has something to play for as well....pride. The only roughie is Scots who seem to continue grow stronger in the tips. Is there something we do not know? Are there cows that have been hobbled?

Meanwhile. Here is a lovely promotional photo taken earlier this week.

just to be clear as Joker has no authority here whatsoever. The rule is that you can't use the word scholarship.

The rule is you can't discuss scholarships. So 'clever' work arounds or "banter" is not allowed.

Tips

Shore +5
View +3
Kings +12

Shore +6
Joeys +11
Kings +6

Hopefully Kings get their minds right because there are plenty of dangerous Scots players. Scots will be playing for pride and it will be brutal early. Scots will also know that if they dont put in 100%, Kings can put >30 points on them. Kings cant take Scots lightly.

Kings showed how to beat View - thru the forwards. Joeys scrum is strong and can scrum View into the ground. Hopefully there is a ref that hands out scrum penalties because View were getting away with a weaker scrum thru the first half of the comp. I think the refs have now woken up to it. The joeys forwards running game is also starting to look dangerous - Joeys 6 and 8 to have big running games.

Shore can beat good teams at home but need to tackle some of New's guns to win this one.

You want Scrum penalties? No wonder rugby is dying.

The best refs are the ones that tell a team to get it out if available.

I think Kings will be fine in the mind. If anything they have a chance to relax into games and just play footy which could be really dangerous.

Hey guys muffin here.

I'm wondering who would everyone put in the AAGPS team of the year. Mine would be

1. Hamish Grover (I) Hard worker, awesome scrumer
2. Bailey Park (K) awesome scrumer
3. Lipina Ata (N) Good at line outs and loves to run the ball
4. Toby Brial (S) awesome scrumer and line out jumper
5. Hamish Long (I) Without a doubt one of the hardest workers in the Riverview first XV I've noticed and is an amazing line out jumper
6. Austin Durbich (K) Always looking to slow down the ball and is great to have on the team
7. Benji Noble (I) - Hardest working player in the AAGPS by a country mile. He is in every ruck and every play
8. Liam Sullivan (I) Hard working 8
9. Henry Curll (I) - I know controversial but feel has been much more dangerous this year or kings 9 as he has been consistent all year.
10. Joe Dillon (I) Has been the most dominant 10 this year cant wait to see where he goes from here
11. Hadley Tonga (K) Has been great all year very consistent and to cant wait to see what 2024 holds for him.
12. Boston Fakafanua (K) Great line runner and aswome ball player
13. Liam Grover (I) Has been pretty good all year the hop to beat the outsider defenders he to has had a great year.
14. Pat Spora (I) I know controversial but nobody has scored on his wing yet. Also so incredibly under rated
15. Leo Jaques (S) His been a bit hit and miss early in the year but has really found his feet in the 15 jersey.

@Joker do you agree and what is your AAGPS team of the year.

Who else will be watching the SIC vs SJC game this weekend. It's shaping out to be an absolute belter of a game with SIC coming off a tough loss against a talented Kings side and SJC who seem to be on a hot-streak after comfortably taking out Newington.

I think there a few flaws with this team. First of all: Lipina does not play tighthead, just hooker and occasionally loosehead. I also believe that Marshall Lemaitre has to be in there somewhere. You cannot deny his defensive workrate and ball-playing ability for a flanker. I also think that F.Bartlett should be somewhere in that 2nd Row combination. That's my take and others are welcome to discuss.
