Wallabies 2023

He mentioned Fainga'a and JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) - "to help fill the training vacancies"

I wonder if they’re in with a chance of rotating into the squad, maybe a few guys touch and go.

JOCs club team playing in a knockout semi this weekend, I’d imagine you don’t go into training squad to hold tackle bags and miss that. It’s not like he’s building towards a future Wallabies career!

What's that got to do with anything? Are you implying he was restricted by it?

I’ve talked about on many times QWERTY about protecting the integrity of super rugby… opening the flood gates to more international reps just makes our competition more suspectible of Japan and Europe clubs offering our talent “greener grass” contracts

Why is everyone so surprised Eddie has gone rogue.

He’s shown nothing since sitting at Super Round writing fake lists for attention to show he has any grasp on what he’s doing right now.

He’s likely to get to a QF and even jag a win and then sit there with a shit eating grin having people say he’s a mad genius and then we’ll get out teeth stomped in by a team with a plan.

I hope I’m wrong but Eddie has never nurtured an organisation into fruitful times. The fact he’s starting at the bottom of the mountain scares me where we could end up.

Does anyone have the list of ARU top ups? I would love to see how many didn't make this squad, and how many domestic player in the squad don't have a top up

He took over an England team that didn't make it out of the Pool stages of the World cup

When Rennie got ditched for Eddie I was not happy - now after all the circus and BS of the last few months he picks a teams designed to cause confusion and outrage, which probably won't make it out of the pool... What a waste - should have kept Rennie and let him have a crack and then focus on 2027

Ok but are you insinuating that was his thought process by not including Quade?

Yeah I mean I’ve been wondering about that. Did Eddie ask rugby australia for an exception?

Makes sense why Foley and Cooper not considered… I personally believe 2 world class locks (can’t teach height) and taking the world class winger made the 2 flyhalves redundant

Qaude out hey, Lonergan's been dusted... Suli and Jorgensen over Wright's criminal..so Max hasnt even trained well as his two or 3 weeks off.

I wouldn't have taken Donaldson over any of the other starting 5/8 at super level..

It's a bold strategy cotton let's see how it pans out

Except it wasn't in place just for the RWC, it's in place all the time...

Damn, I actually love this chaos approach. I've never seen big Will captain, but I've seen enough of Hooper and Slips to know what they bring from a game and ref management.

Only disagree with not picking Quade and going with just Carter. That's alot of time and pressure to put on a young lad.

I kind of understand some of the hand wringing over a few of the more wild selection choices, but also I think we need to acknowledge that over the last 4 games we’ve seen strong, steady, incremental improvement in the Wallabies. While this squad def has an eye on the future, I remain hopeful Eddie is cooking something positive for the present too.
