Well done Riverview! Joey's are in front but for how long can they hold off???? It's a wide open field now. Exciting racing is always good racing!!!

Disorganisation or some form of problem with their First Eight. Need to get it straight. This is ruining their chance at winning on the 16th, and they are letting St Joseph's and Ignatius run away with it.

Think you’ll find a bowman who couldn’t keep food down an hour before their first race was the reason for Kings scratch, very frustrated crew, coaches and supporters….we wait another week to get back in a race. Most of their 8 was already doing singles and double and rest made up a IV. Joeys and View very impressive, especially View’s 2 eight with a 4th in the final against 1 eight’s! Couple of good crews out of Victoria including a great Jnr 8 from Melbourne Grammar getting around Shore (2nd) and Kings (3rd) for a win in U17’s and a red hot light weight IV from Ballarat that got around a Kings IV (2nd) with 1 eight rowers in it and showed them how to move a IV. Blustery winds all day, varied from mostly cross in the morning to cross and tail in the afternoon and would have influenced a few times slightly. Kings Will Rogers took out the U19’s single scull comfortably and shored himself up nicely for a great shot at the title at Nationals in March, I think he was scheduled for 12 races for the 3 days, singles, school and club, Kings scratching prob means he’s back to 10 now including a couple more today, what a beast he is. Looking forward to Gold Cup next week, can Kings get back in the fight???

The field is tightening now. Good final 500 heave from Ignatius got them back in contention after their first 1k they would probably like to have another go at. Well done to Ignatius' 2nd VIII, massive heave from them to get into 4th over Newington and Scot's 1st VIII. That race with King's is sure to be grandstand rowing.

Word is Shore only entered one Four and the rest were on the Nepean training, boy how I would have died to be pretty much the only ones on the Nepean! Hopefully they took something away from it and are ready to fire next week at Gold Cup.

With shores 1viii scratch does anyone know how many of them are sick? And if they will be ready for gold cup? Additionally when will we see the king vii back on the water as an viii

Peter Burge (5)
What a great weekend of schoolboy racing. Unfortunate to see Shore and Kings 1st VIII having to scratch as it would have been interesting to see how they performed against the Victorian schools. It was a bit disappointing the overall performance of the Victorian schools with how Shore and Kings have raced this season I would imagine that they both would have finished above Scotch. Ready for Gold Cup this weekend

Great to join this conversation. Do we have any news about the draw for this weekend's gold cup? Interested to see if Shore and Kings will be participating due to the recent illness that has gone through both 1st VIII crews.

does anyone have information regarding why the Kings VIII have scratched almost all of their races? Super keen to see them race and have a crack at both the joeys viii and riverview!

I don't do this very often however, i thought i'd shine a light on the boys from the hill who performed honourably on Saturday, not only competing but winning there heat, lighting the carnival on fire. Living up to my earlier statements as being the cream of the crop of schoolboy rowing. I also think that they are a smokey this week in the infamous Gold Cup. Bring it on!!! Any predictions for both First VIII and Second VIII? @The Chairman
