Augies v Hills?

Wow - if so, that is not a game I'll want to miss - and it's just up the road from where I live. Snigger.

Edit - I take back the snigger - I misread the post above.

Would the top 5 schools in NSW currently be Hills, Augies, Newington, Kings and Barker in no particular order?

Also CHS rugby will bounce back if the ARU markets it product better. Rugby in these schools is only played if a teacher, who is passionate about the game promotes rugby. Otherwise the players will play something else.
Rugby in CHS Schools is all but dead, you do not need just 1 teacher to get it back on track. You need passionate teachers in ALL ages in ALL Schools just to START to turn the tide.Aint going to happen. Talented Rugby players will move to either private schools thru "musical/academic scholarships" or move to the sports high schools. Unfortunately you cannot put the genie back in the bottle, it is such a shame the ARU just sat back and watched this nursery disintegrate in front of their eyes with NO action at all.
As we are all aware it is much easier/cheaper to maintain something BEFORE it breaks, than to rebuild or replace something that is in total disrepair.

Its not just rugby thats struggling in CHS. I believe that league is also suffering. Costs associated with the involvement in these sports is severly impacting on these sports, especially insurance

Have to agree. My eldest son decided to leave his CAS school for the local high school where all his mates hung out, so I offered to go on the sports committee to support rugby. What a shock. No coaches, no interest other than in drama, music and academic excellence was the stern reply from the head, yet he had a bunch of well qualified boys who had played village club footy and were a very handy team. After organising coaches from our local club and talking to the so called ARU development officer is was obvious that I pushing it up hill with a blunt stick and gave in to the inevitable. One or two of the boys went on to play for Gordon but many just gave the game way, which was a real shame.

Yes, we remember - well, 10 were in the ISA Ones according to my programme - and they had 6 in the Twos. Hills had 8 and 6 (ditto) in the two CHS teams.

I remarked that when they played Joeys in a trial game, that Augies looked like one of the most impressive schools I had seen for years. They also looked handy in a curtain raiser to a S14 game this year.

It looks like a walkover for Augies on that comparison, but as "Sportin' Life" said: "It ain't necessarily so." The teamwork of Hills may be a factor.

It is probably a pity that these two teams weren't seeded to meet in the final.

EDIT - I WAS WRONG - I MISREAD AN EARLIER POST - THEY ARE SEEDED TO MEET IN THE FINAL

Then when do they play?
Is it the semi final @ camden?
If so this is ridiculous, that means it is the same as last year, with stannies walking into the final playing no hard games.
Apparently Augs beat Stannies by 50 at bathurst 2 weeks ago.

Hills are a top outfit . I surely would not like the idea of running into them, especially now that they believe a class distinction has been drawn. Expect a fired up hills team bent on planting a few big hits and no regard for the penalty in the first 20 against any side they play. Seage may not be available due to injury to his good hammy. But the replacement is a top young guy with a real physical presence and tons of speed. Still young but a real find.

prariewood-19 def all saints maitland-5

scrappy game, in the end the ref (prariewoods coach) called it off with 6 minutes to play due to all in brawl with spectators getting involved
all saints bombed 3-4 tries and were always in the game
outside centre for prariewood was a standout large stocky frame, hard running and strong fend
not much in it, the scoreboard says otherwise and prariewood shouldnt go any further, just used their size to pick n drive over the line 3 times

For the alleged premier NSW Schoolboy rugby competition, there is very little information freely available.

Do school teachers administer this? Kind of reminds me of the old "Those who can, do; Those who can't, teach".
