Great work fella. I can't imagine going back to driving to work all the time now.
I never drove, the bus is far too convenient straight down Epping road it's usually <5 minute wait and 15 minute journey.
The plan now is to ride 2 or maybe 3 times a week, depending on weather and other plans.

When I changed jobs, the public transport situation was just inconvenient enough to make me want to ride. The rest is history.

Narrowneck is a lovely walk or ride. If it rains - HTFU!
We're planning on going at dusk, watching the sun set then riding back in the dark. Throw in a 5 hour return drive and the preference is to do it when the weather is playing nice, and the views are clear.
So instead, we'll be doing a Manly Dam circuit followed by some kayaking / fishing..

Drove up and back down the Blue Mountains yesterday, the roadworks ar Hazelbrook, Lawson and Wentworth Falls have created a nightmare. Traffic was stopped at the Woodford bends for about 5km, that's right, not moving. If you can best to avoid the Great Western Highway through the BM until the roadworks are finished.

Great forum,

I have only been into cycling for 6 months but I can say I am very obsessed! I ride to-and-from work in London during the week and spend a fair bit of time in Richmond park or surrey for training.

Gagger, and any other Londoners on the site; have you done Richmond Park? If so, what is your best time?

Im riding for Charity from London to Amsterdam tomorrow with a few guys from work here in London. Should be a bit of a good fun. We are raising money for Children with Leukemia. Love some donations! http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Futex

Under the hour is very impressive Gagger!

Im definitely keen for a ride but im probably a month or two from being able to even try and keep pace with you.
My best lap is 20:39 and that killed me!

I was reading on some cycling blog that the record around the park for a single lap is between 14 and 15minutes!

It would have been impressive if I'd made it - 61 farking minutes!

Defo don't be put off by that - have deteriorated markedly since. Where are you living? Always keen for someone to go for a ride with. Do get a bit bored of laps of the park; it's as if you're going round in circles..

You should sign up for the Dragon ride next June. Most popular sportive in UK. Entries open 29th Dec

Yeah i'm definitely keen for a ride. I live in Wandsworth. How about you?

I know what you mean about laps of the park. Know of any other good rides?

Unfortunately i'm probably heading back to Aus in Jan so I wont be around for that Dragon ride. Looks like a cracker. Are you doing the long or short one?

I'm just near Kingston Gate to the park. Know a loop or two down into Surrey, with the odd cafe on the way back of course

Doing a ride on Sat at 2pm with a very slow mate if you're keen. Otherwise just PM me when you're interested

Did the 80 miler this year on the Dragon, probably go for the big dog next (easy to be brave when it seems far off!)

Did anyone here do the Sydney spring cycle today? 52kms from North Sydney Oval, over the bridge, along canada bay, through bicentenial park and finishes at the olympic flame. Did it with some mates and it was great fun.

Actually could have done it in about half the time but we kept waiting for one of the chicks in our group who is finding real world harder than spin classes

Thats a good distance there Tah with a few bumps along the way no doubt

60k ride out to Windsor to see the Queens gaff in Windsor yesterday. Flat as a tack but One of the guys hadn't ridden for 8 months and was totally broken by the end. Problem is it's getting too cold here to slow down!

Moses, at 4k/hr, you sure you didn't get lapped by some bushwalkers? :NTA
