Damn unlucky for the Force, that last "unplayable" ball looked like it was slightly killed. Great game, great finish from the 'Canes with Cruden offloading like SBW.
Poor old Sharpey having to make this speech...AGAIN!!!!! He doesn't deserve it, they have to be about the unluckiest team in Super rugby.

I thought Jackson had a good first up Super match behind the whistle. Good to have ex players who know a fair bit about whats going on running things.

Forwards decide who wins matches, backs by how much... Not today! Canes were owned in the breakdown!

Yea, the ref was alright. We just lost all structure in attack and defence with 10 minutes to go. We started losing the territory battle, the ball was way too slow. Just wasn't enough experience in the team to finish that one off.

I turned it over after the Vito interview so I didn't have to watch it....AGAIN :)

Really impressed with the Force locks and loosies in securing such quick ball for Stannard to work with.

Cruden really upped the ante in the last 20 minutes by taking on the line and picking half gaps. I guess Henry and co saw this in him, but boy was he poor defensively.

So.... is life after O'Connor looking good?

Only got the live score updates whilst in my lecture and thought we may be looking at a win with 10 mins left.

Did Sheps and Stannard play well? Saw that Sheps had a try to his name + a few penalties.

Always wanted to see Stannard have a proper run, so if anyone could give me an idea of how he played, much appreciated.

Hopefully a 10. Stannard 12. JOC (James O'Connor) option for the future then. Stannard was threatening the line much more than willie did so JOC (James O'Connor) would be lethal outside him.

Shepherd really stepped up this game, Patty dellit and Sidey looked decent.

9.Sheehan (Swanopoel) 10. Stannard (Ripia) 11. Smith 12.JOC (James O'Connor) 13. Dellit (Mafi) 14. Cummins 15. Shep

(saw the highlights of the first half after the final whistle so I am up to date now).

Note to Force:

Dunning as first receiver three times in the last few minutes = BIG NO

Stannard should be your flyhalf moving forward. He offers much better ball-playing at the line and probably has a better long kicking game that Ripia. I'm not sure what his organising is like at this stage but that can only improve. He also looks capable in defense. Big plus for the West.

Couldn't agree more, Ripia has been steady but uninspiring. Nothing to be lost from rolling the dice here on in.
