The Reds looked like they needed another bye to me.

Does anyone find it funny that the same thing happened in the Brumbies game last year? Reds on fire, Brumbies disappointing - then the Brumbies come out and play all over the Reds at the breakdown in a late season game and don't give them a chance to get in the game.

Quite embarrassed by some of the comments from my fellow Reds supporters on here. It's a little like complaining about a referee's decision - if you're not good enough to overcome the minor facets of the game then, simply, you're not good enough. No amount of whinging is going to change the fact.

I was very worried about this game all week. So I wasn't surprised when the Reds were so flat. After last week's huge match the comedown was evident in the lack of purpose throughout the team. The Brumbies sniffed their chance and nullified a lacklustre Reds team. I think Giteau was ordinary at 10 as his team was dominating yet he did little to spark his outside backs. I pray that he isn't picked for the Wallabies - I call him the Craig Wing of rugby.

The Ioane incident looked accidental but I won't be surprised if he's cited and suspended.

Beau Robinson was sorely missed - yet, he did play against the Hurricanes - very similar effort from the Reds. They'll be back though.

I felt like I was watching Round 1 again. Why don't the NZ and Saffa sides take note of how to nulify QLD like the Force and Brumbies have done?

Just want to point out as well that a lot of the "they should have kicked it out to give the Reds a bonus point for the good of Aus rugby stuff" seems to have been sparked by a missconception of Stephen Moore and Giteau's argument. Stephen Moore wanted it kicked it so there was no chance of the Reds getting the ball back as the Brumbies were also out on their feet. Pretty unfair on Giteau when I suspect it didn't even cross the Brumbies minds to gift the Reds a point.

Brumbies forwards kept the pressure on at the breakdown and the Reds forwards didn't turn up.

In prior weeks the Reds had been able to move the ball away from contact quickly, last night the Brumbies made contact into a shit fight and Reds had no answer so Cooper didn't get that fabled quick ball.

I think Gits controlled the game well behind a pack going forward (always easier when then).

Giteau may have controlled field position well in the 2nd half but was relatively poor considering the amount of possession they had. Though my comments may be influenced by the fact that I can't stand the guy - Shitshow Giteau, pffft.

The Reds just couldn't get into the Brumbies 22. They spend 8% of the game there compared to the Brumbies spending 13% inside the Reds 22.

The Brumbies missed more tackles (12 to Reds 7), conceded more penalties (12 to the Reds 9), but the key was the boot. Giteau slotted all of his and Cooper didn't. Cooper overall had tougher kicks to get statistically, but Giteau still landed them when they need to.

Brumbies counter rucked to turn the Reds ball over 5 times, 3 of those where when the Reds were inside the Brumbies 22.

Reds also turned down a few attempts at goal with plenty of time still left in the match.

And the decision for the quick tap in their 22m when the Brumbies' defence was mauling them was equally dumb.

Well played Brums. They turned up and belted us in contact; we looked gunshy. Hopefully it's a wakeup call.

No issues with Giteau taking the kick whatsoever. If the Chiefs had the opportunity to take a penalty at the death against the Blues and deny them a bonus point but didn't for some loftier reason I, for one, would have been up in fucking arms about it.

Hope Diggers is ok. Haven't seen the tackle again since last night but didn't think it was a travesty of justice that there was no penalty. The arm was swinging so he wasn't using his shoulders but Diggers ducked into it.

We lost because the Brumbies played a hell of a lot better.

Pretty embarrassed by some of the vitriol in this thread unfortunately, particularly since the Reds had the luck go their way last week.

Stupid comment. However, I wonder what the reaction will be of the Reds players when they come together with Giteu for the Wallabies. While Gits' actions are completely justified they would still piss of the Reds players.

Got to say I am gutted by the result last night. I have marveled all year at the reds ability to get out of jail. One of things they could not do during the bad years. It just did not happen last night.

The way link looked in the press conference last night makes me think
they will have no issues with motivation this week. No matter who pulls in a jersey.

Gits taking the kick? Rugby is a game of dominance, if he did anything less I'd be surprised.
