The best XV of players from any school

Does anyone want to have a crack at a QLD GPS, NSW GPS, CAS, CHS and ACT comp? it would be interesting to see which of the groups has the stronger side

Without conducting any in-depth research, I reckon QLD GPS would have the strongest side. They've produced plenty of talented internationals in both League and Union. A large proportion of Australia's Super 15 playing pool are GPS Old Boys, off the top of my head:

1. Paul Alo- Emile (BSHS)
2. Stephen Moore (BGS)
3. James Slipper (TSS)
4. Nathan Sharpe (TSS)
5. James Horwill (BBC)
6. Rocky Elsom (NC)
7. David Pocock (ACGS)
8. Scott Higginbotham (TSS)
9. Will Genia (BBC)
10. Quade Cooper (ACGS)
11. Digby Ioane (GT)
12. Berrick Barnes (IGS)
13. Peter Hynes (BSHS)
14. Luke Morahan (TSS)
15. James O'Connor (NC)
----------------------------
16. James Hanson (GT)
17. Mark Chisholm (GT)- Couldn't find another prop
18. Rob Simmons (TSS)
19. Richard Brown (NC)
20. Ben Lucas (GT)
21. Matt To'omua (BSHS)
22. Rod Davies (IGS)

Pretty formidable squad IMO.

So we are just splitting Peter Hynes in half for aic and gps..?
I have a feeling either Lee or Moses is going to post a NSW GPS team that cannot be matched..

You've missed plenty of quality Wallabies from the amatuer era, Swarley.

Very good side, I'd like to see a stronger 13 though and since Maroon Army is claiming him for AIC I say we let them have him. Perhaps we can move Digby to OC and put Rod on the wing?

Actually, since an AIC team isn't possible Hynes might aswell stay in the GPS team.

ACT won't do too badly, likes of Larkham, Fainga'a's. Wheres Flatley, I assume he is the Terrace fly half maroon army is referring to?

He's from Nudgee, but I completely missed the point and was thinking of Micheal Lynagh.

It's a tough one for ACT and I'm sure someone can improve it but I'll kick it off..

Current ACT XV:
1. Guy Shepherdson (Canberra Grammar)
2.
Saia Fainga'a (St Edmunds College)
3. Jack Kennedy (St Edmunds College)
4. Peter Kimlin (Canberra Grammar)
5. Henry Vanderglas (St Edmunds College)
6. Colby Fainga'a (St Edmunds College)
7. Julian Salvi (Marist College)
8. Jack Lam (St Edmunds College)

9. Matt Henjak (St Edmunds College)
10. Matt Giteau (St Edmunds College)
11. Tyrone Smith (St Edmunds College)
12. Robbie Coleman (St Edmunds College)
13. Anthony Fainga'a (St Edmunds College)
14. Lewis Holland - Aus Sevens (St Edmunds College)
15. Josh Dugan - NRL (Marist College)

Patchy, but not a disgraceful current side given Canberra's playing numbers.

15. I played against Fergie McCormack, and with him for a Canterbury junior team, when my family was in NZ for about 8 years. I wish he played for the All Blacks in '86 because that would make me a lot younger than I am. Better check the date.

Christchurch Boys High, or "High" as we called it, was a famous rugby nursery in the day, and no doubt still is. Many of the masters there were ex or even current All Blacks. When McCormack was at school the current All Black captain at the time, Pat Vincent, would have been a master there and one of their coaches.

Did Stephen Larkham get chosen for ACT schoolboys rep at any point, I'd have him as my 10 over Matt Giteau any day of the week

Fergie McCormick '65-71. Sorry about that one, you look alot younger in your picture anyway

It was a current XV, didn't count Gregan either as I didn't know his playing status.
