Forgive my petulance sir...

I know you recognise when you've lost an argument as you are much wiser than i...

I'll mind my language...
I was just stirring you, Beef. It seemed to follow the theme of the posts at the time. It was a good line of yours. :)

Congrats to the Wallabie and their supporters. Watch the first half and thought the score would run in the 40s. Great comeback by the All Blacks.

Did the Wobs "smash" the AB forward pack? I think not. I recall the Wobs holding steady for the first half then getting spun like a dinner plate on a magicians stick several times in the second..

Holding steady? If that wasn't a forward pack smash up, then I don't know what is!

Daz may have been talking about the scrum. Not that I am putting words in his mouth.

daz certainly was talking about the scrum.

You go for it Sully; it appears you are better talking on my behalf than I am. :)

What is this nonsense I just heard on the news from Henry saying in his 8 years as coach he has not seen the ABs play worse?

Can't talk up the Wallabies for fear of tightening the noose. Can't say worst coached in 8 years because that would make my day. Can't say the ref was shite for fear of retributution down the track. The only one's left are the players, so why not stick the spurs in.

Didn't they just play as good as we let them in the first half? In the second they just played very conservatively to hold on to the ball until (finally) a couple of gaps opened. 28 phases FFS.

i honestly believe there could have been a penalty or two against New Zealand in the 28 phases of rugby for coming in from the side and players going off there feet..

The All Blacks were able to retain the ball so long because there was little room to actually compete for the ball.

No doubt that there could have been pennos but that's the case with every second ruck and maul aint it. Those two tries and then Beales in reply made the victory all the sweeter. For years we've been run down from in front. These blokes will get heaps from closing that out, just as the reds did this year.

The first half was the worst I've seen them since Milan in 2009, and that was a scratch team. I can't think when I've seen our supposed top side play so badly in an important game.

EDIT: A big part of this, of course, was that the Wallabies didn't let us play. They rattled us into playing shit.

Play the ref. Barnes has form for not penalising the team in possession, at alll levels.

Sully give me the benefit of your Wisdom, is Alexander really the best option at TH. He got totally dusted from my POV even taking into account the Myth didn't even bother binding in two of the scrums, perhaps he is that contemptuous of Alexander at TH he doesn't deem it necessary to bind.

Some games are lost because the team genuinely plays badly but this was not one of them. I agree the Wallabies got stuck in and rattled the ABs. Henry's comments lack a bit of this type of acknowledgement. It was like hearing him when he coached the Lions.

My question to members: Is this due to "good management" (careful rehab of injured players, and a good training/fitness regime at both S15 and national levels), or is it just "good luck"?

This is a good question mate. Possibly bit a bit of both. i think in reality some of those guys could have returned a while back if we'd needed them. Horne is one player who was definitely put on ice. Slipper and TPN are probably in the same boat. At the same time, how we managed to get through the whole of the tri-nations without so much as a short term injury is mindblowingly lucky!

I think what Henry meant to say was 'in his 8 years as coach he has not seen the All Blacks dominated so badly in one half of rugby'. ...That's okay Henry I haven't seen it either

We played badly in that first half. Dropped balls, missed tackles, sloppy ball at the back of rucks, that is playing badly. They looked clueless. As I say, it's partly down to how well and how hard you guys played but we were having a mare.

Can I just say I was quite happy with how McCalman went off the bench too. I've given him plenty of stick over the past few weeks, but I'm happy to say he went well. Good stuff lad.
