Dale Steyn is destroying us once again. That guy is good.

Mitchell Johnson can put on a big score when needed, it's not over yet. (I hope)

i'm not watching it, just have got the live commentary on. Has it come over cloudy or something? Why the quick loss of wickets? Is Steyn just having a blinder?

Simple pressure doing this. The ball is older now and should play easier but then the same thing happened yesterday. Maybe its the Joburg tide from Sun City.

Yea, the day has gone on without any changes in weather. Aussies just had a lapse in concentration. Hughes and Watson were so composed and focused. Everyone else is playing like they were last week.

That might be harsh though, the SA bowlers have hit some good form as well. They have been hitting cracks throughout the afternoon and are finding some swing.

edit: Cya Paarl.

Watching the game now & early on I'd have given us a chance but the lead is too big now, our batters have had shockers. Cummings has been very good, thats one positive.

I think this is a line in the sand for the aussie team. The test is winnable but it is going to take some performance to do it.

Well, there won't be a better chance for Khawaja and Hughes to step up and prove that they deserve their spots.

can Punter get off the mark? or will it be a pair, in what would then surely be his last test?

What a strange test match, and test series for that matter. Feels like everytime I have checked in the momentum has swithced from one team to the other. Hope Aus go on with it on day 5, but it will be difficult and a close finish is ahead of us whoever gets there.

What an appalling performance by FU Watson in his second innings. That massive mistake in judgement should be the final reason to drop him down the order to 6. This'll happen anyway as he won't be available for the First Test against New Zealand when there'll be a new opening pair.

This test pretty much in the balance and can go either way.

For SA the worlds best quickie Steyn have to fire on all cylinders. For some strange reason the pitch provide more sideward movement and swing the older it gets. Steyn, Morkel , Philander plus Tahir will be a handfull if they bowl in the right areas.

For the Aussies, that man Pointing the vital one. Like I qouted, form and permanent like class and he will be the important one. We have to knock him, Clarke and Hussey over real quick otherwise a drawn series is on the cards.

I have a funny feeling Ponting and Hussey are going to steady the ship and carry us over the line. I haven't had this feeling in about 2 years but there is something in the air when those two are at the crease together and we have a decent start. Hoping Steyn doesn't bowl too well or it's all over.

I love Australia vs SA cricket matches. They are always so entertaining and have large amounts of momentum shifts.

I must put my Dale Steyn man-crush aside and hope we belt him around the park tonight.

On Ponting, even if he does make runs, he needs to go. India will smash us either way, and there is no point continuing to put off the careers of the developing players. Selectors need to face the fact that we are going to eventually have to go through a re-building phase. Who knows, we could find more Pat Cummins', who in my opinion was absolutley brilliant in both innings. Bowled with pace, bounce, movement and agression. Watching him head hunt Kallis was great while his delivery to dismiss Philander was a beauty.

Yep Aussie vs SA in cricket means the same thing as Springbok vs All Blacks in rugby to me.

This two tests has deliver Cummins for you and Philander and Tahir for us. I am still a bit pissed off that our lot havent picked JP Dumniy for this test series. You wont find a more classy batsman like him plus he bowled left arm spin and is one of the best fielders you'd get.

I am not sure about India tho. They maybe a force on their cement block pitches but they will struggle on this pitches who always gives something for the bowler.

Pretty much raining all over SA today. Hope the game finish due to a result. For me a drawn serie will probably fair to both teams with the excellent cricket provided by both teams.
