Troup has a military connotation with it, as well as actually referring to a group of Wallabies.

Mob sounds like a group of Italian Gangsters.

So The Nobodies didn't make the cut?

Troup makes it sound like Dancers and no-one will get the strictly literal and correct connection to Wallabies but most know a Mob is Kangaroos, but Mob is therefore a League term not a Union one. 23rd Man doesn't sound like a Supporters group to me, it sounds like an individual (although I have to admit I didn't get the significance of a 22 man squad anyway, bit of knowledge that skipped my brain), Wolf Pack has no connection, The Vault and the Gold Mine sound more like a brand for a knowledge based resource like a website or wiki, not a fan club of people.

John Eales, or Nobody ('cause Nobodies Perfect), is one of our most famous Wallabies and was a bloke who, in terms of character and conduct, also epitomized the spirit of Rugby in my view. His "brand recognition" crosses multiple generations from kids to old timers and he has acheived all of the highest accolades the game can offer. He was universally respected by other teams as well. The Nobodies. I think it sets the right tone for a Rugby supporters group.

With all due respect out of those options, I think the connection the "nobodies" has is the weakest to the general public by a long way.

OK, fair enough. I thought his nickname was well known, but i'm the wrong guy to ask I guess. Getting widespread agreement is always hard. Its why so many things end up generically branded.

Troup seems popular in the poll. I thought G Troop (G for Green and/or Gold) picked that up and millitarised it a bit, which seems appropriate considering supporters act as a group with direction from an organiser, but with humour. A bit of fun. It would play well in terms of seeing the G Troop in a stadium crowd suporting the Wallaby warriors on the field of battle, having chants like the army boys do on the march, confronting the enemy so to speak, cameras picking it up, them being identifiable with a "gimmick" that commentators in the Media could latch onto etc. It felt like something that could catch on.

You'll probably think its a sucky idea like the Nobodies though :-(

(just kidding btw, I don't care if you think my ideas suck. They quite probably do.)

@Karl - I don't think it sucks at all. I get the nobodies but my pointis, if your trying to grow a group, "nobodies" takes a lot more explanation to the greater masses than "Troup, named after theterm for a group of wallabies"

I like troup. It sounds gay at first listen then it grows on you and gets hard as after while.

Grrrrrr. A troup of bounding swarming wallabies, blood in their eyes, hell bent on "getting some".

Yes, I have no life till the reds kick off in feb.

I went with Troup in the poll, but reckon it should be spelled Troop - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/troop - to make sure we're not seen as a bunch of dancers. Nobody wants some opposition supporters having that as a cheap and easy shot at every game. If it's going to be Troup, then I want to change my vote to Mob, which wikipedia says is also a gathering of Wallabies.

If you want to look at cheap shots then mob easily rhymes with knob.

No mater what you choose there will be an easy way to take a shot at it.
