Did you ever had chemistry at school? Yes? No? Do you drink coffee? Yes? No? Maybe?Red Bull, along with all other 'Energy Drinks' have the potential to produce cardiac problems in most people. From the point of view of someone who has had to sit a convince a teenager to calm down in an attempt to get their pulse rate below 150 whilst waiting for medical attention after drinking far to much vodka and red bull, the bloody things should be banned. They also cause kidney stones in those who are susceptible and strokes in those with high blood presure. Just my opinions however. Enjoy.

Its a Caffeinated energy drink. You might feel not as drunk as you really are is the worst that can happen
Its harmless trust me. You might just not feel as drunk as you actually are thats all. Normally we drink it with Voddy as well. But the amount of redbull you use is a matter of personal taste.Yep I did do Chemistry at school. Actually won a few prizes for it as well. Yes I know it is a caffeinated drink. It is the levels of caffine in the drinks, red bull is not the only one, that is the problem. That combined with some of the other ingredients, e.g grauma (or however you spell it - couldn't be bothered getting up from the arm chair), results in some rather freaky reactions in the human body. OK might not be everyone, but it happens. Same results happen when people drink exhorbant amouts of coffee. When I go out, I go out to have a good time and a few drinks with mates, not to have to resus someone because they are to stupid to know what they are putting in their body can have a negative effect. This applies to all drugs - caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, e's, pot, etc. Just because something is naturally occuring does not means that it is completely safe. Arsenic is natural and doesn't kill you in small doses, interested in taking some of that?
It's not harmless in large amounts. Caffeine toxicity is a real thing, and can even lead to a temporary delerium. Caffeine is a potent vaso-constrictor, hence the caffeine withdrawal headache that seasoned coffee drinkers like me suffer if they forego the morning brew for too long! To get to dangerous levels takes a lot, but it can and does happen. Its harmless trust me. You might just not feel as drunk as you actually are thats all. Normally we drink it with Voddy as well. My other favorite is Black Current Hooch with Brandy.
yet I live. So is coffee. So is the air you breath. So is the fatty foods you eat. So is Alcohol. I would be more worried about the alcohol than the shot of caffeine you get which you get from tea and coffee 99 percent of the time. It's not harmless in large amounts. France and Denmark have already banned Red Bull from the country. What do they know that we don’t?
In America, Red Bull is sold in supermarkets across the country and is mostly consumed by children.
What “they” don’t want you to know — is that Red Bull is a drug and its effects are potentially FATAL.
Red Bull was originally created to stimulate the brain in people who are subjected to great physical force and never was designed to be consumed by normal people, let alone children, as a replacement to soda pop.
Here’s the truth. The reason Red Bull was banned in France and Denmark is due to its vitamin components mixed with a highly dangerous chemical which was developed by the United States Department of Defense during the 1960s to stimulate the morale of the troops based in Vietnam.<------ MYTH
And your point is what? Some people who have been shot in the head live too, but it is not generally good for your health. You said Red Bull was harmless, I disagree. Whether other compounds, atmospheric components, or adipose tissue is also bad for you is sort of irrelevant.yet I live. So is coffee. So is the air you breath. So is the fatty foods you eat. Every word of that is a lie. Really, every single word. Well, maybe except the part about Red Bull containing glucuronolactone.
The chemical was not invented by the government (it occurs naturally in the body). The whole Vietnam story is a lie, the British Medical Journal article does not exist and the FDA doesn't have shit about glucuronolactone being dangerous.
Now, there was this one kid who drank three Red Bulls in a row and then died some hours later, which caused some countries to ban the product. Though this means that the brain tumor theory is out (unless he magically grew a tumor so huge that it gave him a heart attack--but we're pretty sure they would have mentioned that).
As for glucuronolactone, a can of Red Bull does contain 600 mg of the stuff, which is 250 times a person's normal intake. What are the effects? Nobody knows. The reason there are so many rumors about it is that there have been almost no studies into what it actually does. We don't even know if it actually gives you energy.
The same can be said for the other key ingredient, taurine. In some cases it even acts like a sedative.
So how does a can of Red Bull give you that burst of energy? Check out the amount of sugar and caffeine on the label. If you want a reason not to drink it, why not that?
Umm, no it's not. I'm talking about the caffeine in it, not the other shit. Caffeine is toxic in high doses. Hence, it is not harmless. I'm not sure I can make this point more plainly.
haha never saw this thread lolCracked.com! Are you serious! I'll take the good doctors advice not yours. BTW I limit my coffee intake for health reasons so why would I put that shit in my body.
Caffeine fair enough. So you don't drink any gas drinks?Umm

In any event, I'll leave it at that, as nothing will change your mind, and I couldn't be arsed trying to reason with you anymore.
Caffeine intoxication
Primary symptoms of caffeine intoxication[45]
Caffeine overdose can result in a state of central nervous system over-stimulation called caffeine intoxication (DSM-IV 305.90),[38] or colloquially the "caffeine jitters". The symptoms of caffeine intoxication are comparable to the symptoms of overdoses of other stimulants: they may include restlessness, fidgeting, anxiety, excitement, insomnia, flushing of the face, increased urination, gastrointestinal disturbance, muscle twitching, a rambling flow of thought and speech, irritability, irregular or rapid heart beat, and psychomotor agitation.[45] In cases of much larger overdoses, mania, depression, lapses in judgment, disorientation, disinhibition, delusions, hallucinations, or psychosis may occur, and rhabdomyolysis (breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue) can be provoked.[46][47]
Extreme overdose can result in death.[48][49] The median lethal dose (LD50) given orally, is 192 milligrams per kilogram in rats. The LD50 of caffeine in humans is dependent on weight and individual sensitivity and estimated to be about 150 to 200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass, roughly 80 to 100 cups of coffee for an average adult taken within a limited time frame that is dependent on half-life.[4] Though achieving lethal dose with caffeine would be exceptionally difficult with regular coffee, there have been reported deaths from overdosing on caffeine pills, with serious symptoms of overdose requiring hospitalization occurring from as little as 2 grams of caffeine. An exception to this would be taking a drug such as fluvoxamine or levofloxacin, which blocks the liver enzyme responsible for the metabolism of caffeine, thus increasing the central effects and blood concentrations of caffeine five-fold.[47][48][49][50] Death typically occurs due to ventricular fibrillation brought about by effects of caffeine on the cardiovascular system.
Treatment of severe caffeine intoxication is generally supportive, providing treatment of the immediate symptoms, but if the patient has very high serum levels of caffeine then peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, or hemofiltration may be required.[45]
