"It's generally agreed that consuming up to 300 mg of caffeine per day is safe. That's roughly the amount of caffeine you would get from three cups (not mugs or big paper cups) of coffee."

From Wikipedia -

So, you have a young person out and in every drink they are getting at least one standard drink of alcohol and 1 cup of coffee (which is about the caffeine equivalent in a redbull), plus sugar in all liklihood. Safe levels of caffeine is 3 coffees or equivalent. There is half as much caffeine in Coke as there is in redbull.

It's safe to say that at least 10 of these Vodka/tequila/etc and Redbulls are getting knocked back in a session, probably a lot more. 6 is double the RDI of caffeine. 9 is triple. Plus you're getting BAC's of circa .15 and up at those levels with probable dehydration effects.

Redbull isn't even the worst of them either.

Yeah, perfectly safe. And don't listen to the Ambo's who have to deal with the kids drinking this crap either. What do they know?
I drink it with Tequila. How many tequila shooters can you get out of a can of redbull? Bet you don't know that because you don't know what your talking about.
One can contains 80 mg of caffeine.

From your statement:

Spoony, you are once again proving that coherent thought and communication aren't your strong suit, unless you rip off other peoples' content and present it as your own words and even then you manage to mangle it to the point of uselessness.

This thread makes amusing reading for me. A lot of people arguing with an invisible poster.

I just gave up coffee for the 2nd time in my life. It really is poison, you feel so much better without it. No more high and crashes during the day.

I've never had a cup of coffee in my life and I've survived. Maybe I'm missing out on something.

Right with you there. I didn't give up but cut back from about 6 a day to one a day a few years ago and I don't miss the crashes at all. I don't think people realise how much effect caffeine is having until you have to do without it. Can happily go all day with out it now, but appreciate the one good coffee that I have.

And for the record I don't drink coke or other caffeinate drinks either. And yes I do read the labels of all new drinks that I am going to try. Bundy and Dry or Bundy and ginger beer is very nice.

Nope haven't missed anything. Just a few withdrawal headaches.

I go days or weeks without a coffee. Sometimes I get on a green tea thing. I have a high caffeine tolerance though. I can have a double shot espresso an hour before bed and sleep like a baby. I don't feel a coffee "rush" as I have heard it described.

You might feel not as drunk as you really are is the worst that can happen

Am I the only one think that this is a pretty bloody awful side effect? Not think as drunk as you are.. drink more.. alcohol poisoning.

Nothing wrong with a few, nothing wrong with the odd shot, nothing wrong with the occasional vodka & red bull. But you do need to watch out when mixing alcohol with poweful mixers- all sorts of wrong fucked up shit can happen.

As for coffee... never been able to tolerate that for some reason. So I laugh each morning at the long queue outside pacific coffee of addicts ordering buckets of the stuff.
